  1. With the greatest respect, that’s simply not true. There’s a few loud dissenters in the fan base (usually when results aren’t good) but it’s certainly not the vast majority.
  2. There’s a new digital advertisement board on Park Road near Matalan (similar to the one on Shaw Road), which amongst other things advertises local takeaways. If pizza shops can get on a giant bill board, surely the rugby club can do the same.
  3. I don’t agree with everything you say on here Anita, but I couldn’t have put that better myself
  4. Terrible last tackle options and giving away silly penalties let us down today. We looked really unorganised at times at the end of sets, but we had enough quality to get a point at the end. Brilliant conversion to tie the score at the end. Batley were tidy and and played the conditions well. It was bloody freezing.
  5. My take on attendances, for what it’s worth.. it’s still only February, the weather has been Baltic and we've had a good run of home games (as have Latics) so people’s funds have been stretched. Once we’re in the groove of playing ‘summer rugby’ every fortnight or so and welcome the likes of Bradford, Halifax and Widnes I believe we’ll be getting a lot closer to the 2000-2500 mark.
  6. Mid season international at BP would be my guess.
  7. Friday night at Odsal, should be fun
  8. Matty Ashurst joins Iain Thornley at Oldham. A very good squad is taking shape at Boundary Park.
  9. It’s seems a bit unfair judging the club off the previous regime, however we know the score will improve in time. I’m all for clubs being made to improve standards though and ultimately become more self sufficient. God knows we needed to do it! RL has been struggling for years (for ever?) and the RFL and Sky have been massively criticised. We’ve now brought in a world wide sports management company with a long term plan and we do the same. I’d like to see a system of highest placed B team in the Championship goes up, and lowest B in SL goes down, however at the end of the day.. London finished bottom of Super League and got relegated. Wakey finished top of the Championship and got promoted..
  10. The picture involving Oldham players, shared online by a player at the time.. very strange behaviour from the coach in question.
  11. Yesterday’s crowd at BP was the second highest in the Championship and League 1 this weekend. Only 3,006 at Odsal was higher.
  12. What shirt were we wearing today? A one-off or next season’s home shirt?
  13. I wonder if we’re going to be adjusting the club logo, back to the one without the the shield. I’ve noticed we’ve been using this one on a few things recently.
  14. What a brilliant day out. Not the best performance of the season, and we let it get a bit sloppy in the second half, but the quality eventually shone through. Superb scenes at full time and a great atmosphere throughout. It seemed like the crowd was at least 50:50 Cougars to Yeds! Good luck to Keighley in the play-offs, and bring on the likes of Bradford, Widnes and Halifax! ️️
  15. Here’s the photo of the Oldham players that was circulated by the head coach in question. Photoshopping nooses around players necks is of extremely bad taste, and just plain weird. Even if it wasn’t intended to be made public.
  16. Just subscribed myself. It’s very good. Professional, lots of content and behind the scenes stuff. Another thing the club is getting right.
  17. League Express has him down as being red carded.
  18. Another very good performance, especially second half when we really turned the screw on the opposition. The forwards looked powerful, especially the Chapelhows, and the younger players like Astley and Aldridge looked assured. Turner and Wardle were hard to deal with, and Wildie and the half backs steered the team around the field well and we were good value for the win. Swinton away next, if they beat West Hull. Lovely stuff. Other teams will be taking note..
  19. Making good meters up the middle and had the field position, but we’ve not executed well enough. Need to improve our discipline too. Barrow’s defence and kicking very good.
  20. It’s on LinkedIn. He does them regularly and often starts them with the phrase ‘I hate Rugby League’ or ‘I love Rugby League’.
  21. Yes, but it’s home games that League 1 teams are desperate for the income from (Hunslet will get two of which), and then the groups are arranged on a geographical basis. The clubs pushed for this and worked with the RFL because they wanted guaranteed income after losing London Skolars. Cornwall even offered to miss out on the competition (contrary to popular belief) to make the competition format work.
  22. Not sure Sheffield, Fev, Leigh and Halifax fans would agree, having seen their teams winning silverware at Wembley (and the Tottenham stadium in the case of Leigh) for the first time in many years.
  23. If you’re into chicken shops though, boy, you’re in for a treat.
  24. Or train to Mills Hill and 5 minute taxi to BP.
  25. Don’t ye worry Browny, there’s young talent across the team in the likes of Logan Astley from Wigan, Bailey Aldridge from Leeds and Jumah Sambou from Saints.
