At last, something decent....

from the tax-dodging Scott Trust house tabloid.  More fuel  for UKIP

Several British police forces have questioned newsagents in an attempt to monitor sales of a special edition of Charlie Hebdo magazine following the Paris attacks, the Guardian has learned.

I understand why asking for the names of those who might have bought this magazine will appear over-zealous and unnecessary.

Not will appear  over-zealous ..but actually IS overzealous

When you quote the Telegraph, why do you not refer to the tax dodging Barclay Brothers?  Or the Mail, the tax dodging Lord Rothermere,?  Or the Express, "the porn publishing Richard Desmond?  You seem to be a little selective in your slurs John.

“Few thought him even a starter. There were many who thought themselves smarter. But he ended PM, CH and OM. An Earl and a Knight of the Garter.”

What do you think the reaction would be if someone said 'I don't want to be buried near those darkies'? I doubt the reaction would be one of 'sympathy to the family'. Yet for some reason this isn't treated similar.

Lib Dem council incidentally. But yes that was exactly my thoughts. Incidentally wonder whether this would have been considered were the non Muslim not Romany, but I suspect it probably would with some of the extremist Islamophilia among some fake liberals.

Islamic religious authorities say that it is forbidden for non-Muslims to be buried alongside Muslims under normal circumstances

What nonsense...and no wonder  religions are ridiculed. I wonder if the Koran specifies an acceptable distance apart where the contaminating influences are attenuated sufficiently.  I'm assuming the inverse square law applies.

The burial plots arev available to anyone. If the Muslim family weren't aware of this, it's their hard luck and their relative's body should be the one exhumed. Otherwise, the whole cemetery would have to be given over to Muslims.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/london-council-defends-criticism-over-claims-it-banned-pork-from-primary-schools-10041519.html

“Young children, some as young as four-years-old, of different religious and ethnic backgrounds may not know which foods contain pork, or may not realise the importance of avoiding it due to their culture or beliefs,” the council was quoted as saying.

“Monitoring each child, every day ensuring they are avoiding pork, is an unnecessary cost at a time of tight budgets.”

To be honest, I think that's fair enough.

A four year old Muslim in Bradford probably can't speak English to any great standard, if at all. He/she will certainly not be aware that there are certain meats that are not acceptable under their faith.

I doubt if any four year old white kids in the city know much about the Bible either.

True but raises issues of do they really have that particular belief at 4. Either way don't think you can enforce Sharia dietary requirements on everyone to appease one favoured minority religion

In Bradford's inner city primary schools, it's not the minority religion.

In an ideal world, you could give kids solely vegetarian meals  and rely on them getting appropriate meats at home. Unfortunately, the council needs to ensure that many of the Muslim kids get some meat because we have seen the recurrence of dietary-deficiency diseases such as rickets.

Rickets is to do with not enough sunlight and you need more (or vitamin D tablets in winter) the darker your skin is

MORE than a hundred children across the Bradford district received hospital treatment for rickets or some other form of vitamin D deficiency in the year up to the end of March, new figures have revealed.

In 2009/10, the number of children diagnosed with the condition in Bradford hospitals stood at only 17, but this had increased to 105 by 2013/14, a rise of more than 500 per cent.

The new figure is the joint seventh highest across the UK, which saw an average of 31 hospital admissions per local authority for children aged up to 16.

Vitamin D
Red meat is the largest natural source of vitamin D, an essential vitamin for maintenance of organs and our bones. Sunlight it also a great source of vitamin D – a lack of which can result in softening of the bones and changes in mood. Seasonal Affected Disorder is aided by a vitamin D rich diet and exposure to sunlight.
