Halifax match

Seaton Sandy

Recommended Posts

Ye, I said he should go when Townie posed the question at the start of April not many agreed then but quite a few changed there minds since then, nearly half the season gone and one win, roumours that the players dislike Vievers And his methods so moral is low plus injuries etc, falling gates yet no word from the club apart from our chairmans statement of confidence in the coach to turn it around, he said it's a mental attitude problem stopping us performing but if they dislike the coach and his methods then surely it's up to them to stand up and take some action and responsibility if they want to stay in this league before it's too late if that point as not already been reached.

He's made his promises now .. He needs to deliver some wins .. I'm by no means suggesting it's an easy job coaching town however I do not think and never have thought veivers respects the club .. The players or more importantly the supporters .. His arrogance I can deal with if he gets results but I'm afraid it's make or break .. He says he's not worried by the league position fair play talk is cheap i look forward to us not only making up the 4 wins needed but progressing out of the relegation places .. I personally don't think we have a chance in hell BUT let see if he can produce

Is that how far this once great club has fallen - damage limitation every weekend?

Pretty much everyone is saying if we keep them under 40 points we will have done ok.

Well not for me folks, anything less than a win will be unacceptable. We should be able to more than compete with Halifax and most of the other clubs in this league.

I'm sorry if this offends the glass half empty brigade, but for the bulk of games I've watched this season we look an unfit, unorganised rabble. There have been exceptions, but in the main we don't look focused or prepared when taking the field.

Now call me old fashioned, but I thought it was the job of the coaching staff to organise and motivate the team. Yes we have had bad luck with injuries which has effected training, but facts are facts, someone has to take responsibility and it will take one almighty display from the team in the next 6 games to show me that Vevers and his coaching team are the right people to take this club forward.

I stand by my comments that a change should have been made 3 games ago to give us a fighting chance of staying up.

If it is another 40+ defeat tomorrow then a change must surely be made to give any new coaching team the opportunity to reorganise for the second half of the season.

If we are going down then I want to see some fight and a willingness to perform.

Good players don't become bad players overnight, and there is a lack of confidence in the camp which sees players going for 'safe moves' rather than trying things 'off the cuff'.

If anything our best performance this season was an 'off the cuff' game when with players filling in anywhere they could we gave Leigh an almighty scare.

Time to remove the shackles Phil and let the players take the lead

Great post, I agree with everything you are saying, but as Town4me points out we haven't got the funds to change anything at the moment, we just have to live in hope that this decent bunch of players we have can turn it around.

If we have no money I wonder how other teams do it on similar crowds ? Without speedway / stadium naming rights .. Lottery etc

Most teams have lotteries and stadium naming rights and the speedway money isn't what it used to be, too much money spent on bringing average players half way around the world. All down to the coach I'm afraid, in Charlo's tenure it was the BOD who brought in the players and Charlo brought in the local lads. We just don't have a directors like Eilbeck who have the cash to put in.

Why the hell does-the commentator get all excited when the opposition score and never seem bothered when we do!! It happens every week!! Considering they are from Cumbria you'd think they would want town to win!!!!!

Nice to John Gibson gets as exited when Town concede, as he does when covering Haven and they concede.

Brink back Walsh and Cox.

HW

He makes Cox look like a Town fan
