A lot of people in the UK live in poverty anyway and things can't get much worse.

Expats have a personal interest in staying remain as you correctly say, so it doesn't come across well wishing ill on the poor just because they voted differently to you.

The "lot of people in the UK who live in poverty" and for whom "things can't get much worse" will not, therefore be adversely affected by my actions.

I do not consider people who merely expressed their view at the ballot box to be "brexiters". For me, "brexiters" are those who keep banging on about "the people have spoken" on here and those such as Johnson, Gove and, above all, Farage, none of whom will suffer in the slightest from any fallout from the UK's exit from the EU. Ordinary people who voted 'leave' are just that: ordinary people who are entitled to their view and entitled to express that view.

As you rightly point out, the ones to suffer will be the poor and the disadvantaged. The reason is that, despite the assertion that things cannot get worse, believe me, things certainly can get worse!

But, my final point is that I am not a complete barsteward. I did say "a bit of the barsteward". I also pointed out that the sufferer-in-chief would likely be me. I would not, in reality, vote for the worst of all brexits. I am many things, but 'stupid' is not one, neither is 'vindictive'. However, having voted 'remain', should a second referendum be called, I would now vote 'leave' to ensure that the will of the people is respected.

Niels, don't take me too seriously. ;)

Looks like me and Saintlass's favourite banker are making similar points

I forgot to mention the banking crisis as another disaster partly enabled by globalisation. The actions of a small number of greedy individuals did far more damage and put more strain on our public services in the last 8 years than any number of immigrants.

"I am the avenging angel; I come with wings unfurled, I come with claws extended from halfway round the world. I am the God Almighty, I am the howling wind. I care not for your family; I care not for your kin. I come in search of terror, though terror is my own; I come in search of vengeance for crimes and crimes unknown. I care not for your children, I care not for your wives, I care not for your country, I care not for your lives." - (c) Jim Boyes - "The Avenging Angel"
