The article doesn't provide much detail as to the reasons, but it all sounds amicable and who knows?  Maybe he even got head-hunted by another organisation?  (hopefully in Rugby League still)

For the game in GB yes it will.... but for the rest of the European Union then the funding will still be valid surely!

Thair has been quite open to the various Leagues about why he has moved on. It was simply the remote work and lack of face to face was getting to him. Naturally this was all decided by Chris well before most of the world went into shutdown. 

He'll pop up again in Rugby League.
