Sad news about Eric Bell passing away. He was one of the most knowledgable people I’ve met in my time at the club and a delight to talk rugby with. Condolences to his family.

Very sad news, he was a genuinely nice bloke. A regular in the Pack Horse in Seaton when Super League was on. A real shame!

I first came across "Ecky" when he played for Cockermouth G.S  under 15'S and I played for Workington G.S. This would be around 1956. Even then he had a sidestep that moved him a yard from the defender. A great player from his early days until he played professional. I used to meet him on Saturday nights at the Trades, we always had a crack and he was the first on the dance floor!! R.I.P old friend and foe.

I knew Ecky as a friend. Worked in different departments at Chapel Bank. Had drinks in Seaton British Legion.

Ecky was also a life member of the Town club. I believe he was appointed by Tom Mitchell who was an admirer of Ecky.

Has anybody any idea  of other Town rlfc life members?

Eric Bell was a great servant to the Club , 15 years as a player and then on to coaching . Was very unlucky with injuries , but was a great Clubman who will always be remembered for being a Townie through and through .
