an interesting article highlighting The Hammer’s appreciation of AFL. Maybe Samoans can be persuaded to give Australian Rules a go.

Still smarting from his full field try last week to down the Sharkies. I’m sure he would’ve went well in Australian Rules too had he been persuaded to go that route.

Evidently is the cameras fault that the crowds are low at GWS home games 🤣

Unfortunately not. I don’t have an account and never had one. I never visited the site until you mentioned it a page or so ago.

I don't want to die with a BigFumble account. Wouldn't mind, if I'd been able to post. Haven't even had the chance to get banned.

BTW, you'll have to take my word for this - I mentally tipped Carlton for the premiership a couple of months ago. Not looking too bad a prediction for a neophyte. Let's hope South Melbourne implode.

"gone" is the past participle.

Some of your grammar is South Sydney bumpkin level.

You did get outed on league unlimited though didn't you as a AFL troll.

We all have to live with the consequences for the choices we have made and actions we have taken. If you can’t overcome your situation, you will have to make peace with it.

Great to see Carlton flying high. One of  Australia’s sporting powerhouses. I hope the Bombers as an equally underperforming powerhouse can remain in the fight as the season navigates the later rounds.

It will have been a long time since the AFL saw the three of Melbourne’s big four in the finals. There will be some huge matches if these two and Collingwood all meet in the finals.

Impossible for one and I still don’t know how a troll can be “outed”.

So do you still post on there?

Your love for the Anglo-Irish game is well known, but that's your choice, but you shouldn't have been trolling on a Rugby League forum.

You haven’t answered the question. How can you be outed as a “troll”?

In any case, you have me mistaken for someone else. Maybe you can enlighten me as to who you are referring to?

I haven't mistaken you for anybody else on league unlimted, and i asked the first question.

I have no problems with your love for the imported game from Engalnd and Ireland ( The Anglo-Irish game) but you shouldn't have expressed you love of it on league forums.ie. League Unlimited.

That's me done on this matter and i hope you are as well.

You have mistaken me for someone on League Unlimited. If you continue to make false accusations, expect them to be refuted.

I have had a LU account for maybe 12-24 months. I still post there but only very occasionally. I find the functionality of the site to be a poor user experience and my most preferred topics are usually the same people slagging each other off all the time instead of holding a meaningful discussion. It’s boring.

TRL is a much better forum for sensible discussion.

Don't forget the amount of freebies they give out for home games to pad out their crowds.

Crowd reported as just under 20k v Swans. Seemed to get very lucky with the weather for most of the game, judging by conditions at Souths v Manly.

North's charge to the finals was halted by Collingwood last week. Followed up today with another sickener against the Demons.

I always hate it when a lowly team just comes up short. Worst kind of result. In NRL, Titans have been cruelled out of wins several times this year.

From the stills i see they must have been counting arms and legs, or perhaps all the freebies they gave out.

What are you talking about? What does anything you say have to do with what you quoted of me?

More evidence in this game that "tackling" in AFL means grabbing or touching. The third-quarter "dangerous tackle" call was especially risible. The one in the fourth quarter, almost as daft.

Aussie Rules seems to be a form of Touch Football where the player in possession must get rid of the ball if touched by a defender.

Question for @Sports Prophet

Geelong v Essendon at the MCG this Saturday night is listed as a Cats home game.

Fair dinkum, the crowd will exceed 40k. But Kardinia Park is not exactly Shark Park. How can pollies justify spending so much public money on a stadium in Geelong when big games are moved to Melbourne?

As two clubs which played against each other in the first ever round of V/AFL and fought it out for the end of season inaugural premiership, I immediately guessed this year would be a milestone. I happened to be in Melbourne out of absolute luck where I watched the two clubs play each other on a Wednesday night (if I recall correctly) for the 100 yr celebration/anniversary of their first V/AFL meeting. That was in 1996, so the sums don’t work out for the 125/130 years milestone I immediately guessed. That game I went to on the Wednesday night had near on 90k at the G and was one of my best footy experiences ever.

As the sums don’t work out, I can only guess that these two (of the) most famous football clubs in the country (and oldest in the sporting world) are due a turnout of more than 200% of what Kardinia can hold and have made a decision to play it at a stadium where capacity can meet demand.

The pollies (as you put them) are predominantly AFL cultists, which I envisage have no qualms with Geelong having a home capacity deserving of their week in week out, while at the same time, appreciative where a single match’s demand exceeds availability, will be played at a larger venue.

I can only assume those pollies are satisfied because there isn’t a single news article I can find which condemns the game being played at the ‘G’.

Not my language, cobber. Aussie rules, Aussie slang.

NRL either wouldn't or couldn't persuade Sharks to move a semi-final from a roughly 12k capacity suburban ground. Eloquently sets forth widely differing values and governance in NRL/AFL.

Funny enough, following the past two seasons, general consensus among the wide Sharks faithful I know is to move any potential home semi final to a larger stadium.

This is a recent major change in mindset. I reckon if Sharks finish 1, 2, 5, or 6, you will see that first week semi played at Moore Park and there will be widespread satisfaction from the Sharks faithful with this.
