glemiln
It seems that showers will be greeting what I hope will be a great crowd for Sunday’s tough encounter with, for now, unbeaten league leaders. Their squad (on X ) includes former Hornet, Lewis Hatton who has been retained until 2027. Ref - Brad Milligan. With the exception of Wilkinson it looks the best we have. It's going to be a great measure against one of the strongest sides in the comp. Should be a good game and perhaps the first shock result of the season . C'mon Hornets
The Lad
Cougars are one of the favorites to lift the league title, so to put in a good performance regardless of the result is important. Hornets have shown they can do damage with ball in hand and more importantly against Crusaders they showed game management doing a drop goal. We will have to take every opportunity and be strong in defence if we want to come away with points, but a switched on hornets can win this game. glemiln
And nearly did we reached the summit! That we outscored Keighley second half 18-12 augurs well for the rest of the season - well played everyone. Hopefully a good attendance - I guess we were noisy!

The Lad
Better team lost today. First half was back and forth as we wouldn't go away, the try on 40 mins really was a killer. The second half we were the better team and keighley were blowing for the last 10, Hornets looked in the ascendancy and would go on to win it but an unlucky interception gave the Cougars the win. Best performance I have seen all season, the team didn't give away much and looked like they knew what they were doing. Play like that and we will be a team to watch.

We scored almost every time we attacked in the first half and started the second half in the same way. You came on strong and played some good rugby in the last 25 mins, but even if you had scored at right at the end when we intercepted, you would have drawn at best. Two scores coming from a six again that wasn't, a penalty right on our line for ripping the ball which was obviously dropped. Plus the lucky interception that was more to do with us forcing the ball. So it's -16 for Cougars. What really saved you was the clock, Cougars were out on their feet Hornets just ran out of time. Considering you came here unbeaten and already a top two team in everyone's mind, when the hooter went I haven't seen so many fans so relieved for a long time, I've heard of a paper tiger but yesterday I saw a paper Cougar.
