Ukraine ending the game on the line.

A cracking scrum-play sees them score the final try. The scrum was on the left edge and they went three passes wide to the right, drawing the edge defence up, and then doing a run-around. The winger went in down the right.

Lovely way to end the game, with a bit of inventiveness.

Serbia much too strong, but I think there are positives on display there.

I think Serbia and Netherlands are real sparks of light in the 'second tier' of European Rugby League.

Ukraine in for another try in the final minute.

Glad they could finish on a high.

FT - Serbia 50-10 Ukraine

A well-worked try it was too!

For the France game Cesar Rougé man of the in my eyes. Was terrific, also Theo Fages played great.

Rougé is totally worthy of a Super league starting spot, probably won’t be for Catalans though with Keary joining. I think Leigh should be heavily looking at him, would be a great Moylan replacement.

100 per cent. Those two bossed the game for France. I'd have gone Rougé as well.

He is every inch a Super League player. Most teams in the comp would benefit from signing him.

I wouldn't disagree...but I'll add a shout for Billy Walkley who gave Wales a lot of zip and seemed to be involved in anything productive for Wales

Billy Walkley is fantastic. I watched all 3 game he played for Wales, he’s running game is lethal. Very quick and Agile player, reminds me of Keano Kini. Scored 20 tries for Keighley this year and was nominated for League 1 Young player of the year. I believe he has resigned for keighley though for another season which is a shame because he is certainly good enough to be a regular in the championship.

Wales wanted an easier ride? 🤦🏼‍♂️

Another interpretation is the world cup qualifiers had a squad size limit, but due to the way the rules were written France were able to significantly exceed that limit.

There doesn't appear to be any breach of the wording of the rules, but the spirit is definitely in question. When games are so close together it obviously makes it easier for one team if they are allowed to change their squad between matches, and the other is not. Given Wales went in to the final "busted" then I would support the rules being tightened up in this case.

I guess they should develop the sport in Wales so they can have some FT players they can call on ........

I didn't understand half of what the points the Welsh Staff? member was trying to make - Talking about Pellisier playing for Toulouse on Sunday and then France on Tuesday -

Didn't Wales have a couple players in (at least) Williams who played for Swinton on Sunday and then Wales on the Tuesday?

I think Swinton played the weekend before the friendly/ warm-up game vs Jamaica in Neath. It was then a week later that Wales played in Carcassonne.... but I get the principle and both governing bodies need to be far clearer on what is acceptable in selection for full internationals...particularly as there was only one European place available for the World Cup.
