Good hit out. Good crowd also. Thought Town played well considering new team and first match. We bombed 3 or 4 tries. No idea what's happening with the kicking of goals !! Thought Johnston was a kicker. ? Delaine had a really solid match as did a few others also. Not sure what Teare was doing kicking it when he was clean through with a pass either side and we score.

Anyway it's good to have it back

Good competitive game exactly what's needed pre season, pitch was shocking but understandable in the circumstances.

Two conceded tries tiny concern as they were more a less walk ins out wide ,but again it's only a friendly.

Thought Charlie emslie played well ,king looked powerful , town don't look too bad an outfit so all's good

Can easily look at players not involved today and the conditions and be responsibly confident there's alot more to come

Good game today and a good hit out for both teams, don't know what Teare will bring to your team if I'm honest he was useless and will be costing you £££ , good luck for the season.

Typical pre season game, you just want to get through them with no injuries, unfortunately Bishop didn’t last long on debut, looked to be knock d out. 3 big props missing as well as a couple of others.
I think Town will go ok in league one, looked good when attacking down their left.

A good workout. Like the way the squad is shaping up, continue to be impressed with Delaine seems to be improving week on week. Emeslie carried the ball well too. King and Robson look to be two great pick ups as expected.

A couple of the local lads in the town side shone particularly Stephenson. Archer had some nice touches at loose also ones to keep an eye on moving forward.

Wasn't great was he? Looks like we've signed another centre who can't attack....Broadbent to come back in for me

Go back a couple of years and quite a few of you lot were gutted when he went to Haven.

It's funny how players are always the best thing since sliced bread when they play for your team but somehow become useless all of a sudden when they sign for your rivals.

More than happy to give people a chance but having seen him lots for Whitehaven I think we know what we're getting, which is a strong defensive player who offers little in attack. He's not getting in the side ahead of Costello and Broadbent

If I'm honest mate I never rated him at town and was quite happy when he jumped ship for more £££ , he's a big lad who should be running through brick walls, I just don't see him adding anything to your team and as previously said you have better players in front off him already, just my opinion.

Mate there won't be much love lost between town fans and Curtis. He was dreadful yesterday. Barrow looked strong but the game was very evenly matched in the first half before town filtered in trialists etc. we were missing about 6-7 who you would expect to be in our 17 most weeks. King and the big lad who scored your second were outstanding. Good effort by both teams considering the conditions and how heavy the pitch was. You defo need a goal kicker urgently as that will cost you some games this year

Normally, it'd be Ryan Shaw or Ryan Johnstone (when he's not nursing a niggle) but if those two aren't available I'd be worried after seeing the alternatives. Our touchline conversion attempts were very poor.

Archer was a revelation kicking for you yesterday - he'll be an asset as long as he can stay injury-free.

Last season Ryan Johnson's goal-kicking was acceptable but you really need Shaw in the team as his kicking is so consistent and in close games he's the difference between winning and losing. Given Costello and Broadbent are the selected centres, means Shaw would probably get the nod over Toal who's faster, but who's pretty poor defensively. Teare looks good defensively, not as fast as Toal but I've not yet seen him play as a winger to be fair. So the left-wing spot could be any one of these 3 in any given game. Clearly, any injuries will make selection more straight-forward.

Johnstone kicked well last year wonder why he doesn’t fancy it, Brad walker can kick goals has a few on his record, Brett carter has kicked for us in the past and sure I’ve seen Broadbent kicking before.

cant see anybody coming close to Ryan shaw one of the best kickers I’ve ever witnessed in my 30yrs as a fan
