It will still be on Sky - IIRC it's part of the same deal that NRL signed with MSK - that Sky get State Of Origin, Round by Round Highlights and the Grand Final for the length of the contract that MSK has everything else

Richard from MSK said on Facebook that with more money from the subscriptions, that they will try and get the GR and Origin next year.

It would be great news if they could because the Sky coverage is utter trash.

Unless the channel finds something to show over the winter months, they might not even be around this time next year. I would imagine that the deal with Sky might last for more than the 1 season anyway.

Also, apart from the pre-match and half-time, which I never bother watching anyway, Sky's coverage of the GF and SOO comes from Channel 9. Exactly the same as any other broadcaster that wanted to show it in this country.

Thinking about it - there is no reason they can't show it as secondary broadcasters, but Sky will still show it as well - plus they have the added bonus of HD

Which I experienced for the first time on Saturday evening.

I'll be getting a new HD tv in time for the four nations for sure now that Sky have gone to HD on all four sports channels and even HD on Sky Sports News.

My folks are looking at cutting their Sky costs, so there is no chance of me convinving them to subscribe to this, and I only manage to get to watch 1 game a week, so won't be paying for it myself.

Have to agree I've got vhs tapes from the 80's which look better than the picture they are broadcasting.

Was ###### to start with a few months back, its spot on now

A lot of Yorkshiremen believe that when God created the world, he made it with perfect balance.
He balanced the hot areas with the cold areas. the dry areas with the wet areas.
And, in creating Yorkshire, he created the most glorious place on earth - full of majestic beauty and sporting giants.........and for balance he created....... Lancashire.

Only looks OK in close up, distance shots and replays still look quite blocky.

Sky rang me out of the blue to offer HD free for a year. Valued customer or something like that. A couple of months after we had the HD installed, Sky rang back to ask me what I thought of it. I told them it was a complete waste of money, and when the free offer ends I'll be cancelling. Still, got a nice new sky+ box out of it. laugh.gif
