We are in a democracy indeed. But McDermott is the paid employee of one club and therefore it is not his place to comment publicly on the owner of another. How many other coaches demand that the owner of other clubs apologise to everyone? How many owners of clubs demand that the owners of other clubs apologise to everyone? That's right: zero. Just because the employee concerned happens to be McDermott doesn't mean he should be above the code of respect within the sport.
I would go so far as to suggest that the only reason McDermott commented as he did was because Dr K is an easy target. He wouldn't have dared speak up the same way if the owner had been McManus. He wouldn't have had the balls to do that. Although to be fair I would really enjoy reading the responding article by McManus should he ever try!
Could that be because Saints pay their players on time, don't have bailiffs calling and no ccj's against them.I've never heard or read of McManus publicly slating players,or people within the RFL,Marwan on the other hand............................................
I suspect that's why Brian Mac said what he did and not because he's scared of any other chairmen.
Keep grinding the Leeds axe.
Anyway, good win for leeds, back to the top and great for points difference.
