Sir Jekyll Stocking
Not even a bite. Never mind, GOR. Try another topic. If you want to set the ball rolling, you can usually get a response out of BSJ on the subjects of - winter rugby - contested scrums - replica shirts - franchising vs promotion/relegation. Cheers Roger. Stan McHugh - brother of our very own Wayne (the girlie of the family according to big Stan). I remember Swales being as mad as a box of frogs. Do you know, I'd forgotten what a run down dump Fartown was, wonder what the health and safety exec. would make of it now. I also wonder how many pie eaters remember (or even want to remember), that even the mighty Wigan served a spell in the lower tier. If this is the RL Action extract from 1981 then it truly is an eye-opener. Old school RL at its best, or worst. Notice our own Jack Addy as MB's assistant on the bench. It is notable that players were sent off for fighting rather than horrendously dangerous tackles. Stevo would have had a fit commentating on this. Now if you want to see some really crazy stuff look up Australian RL from the same era. Newtown vs Manly 1981 is a good start.
