  1. Sports Flick’s UEFA coup a tale of suburban heroes (smh.com.au) It just keeps on getting more interesting. The company behind Flick Sports is called DCA Enterprises which has several shareholders one of which, who holds 5%, is Perth based footy nut Colin Kleyweg. Kleyweg is the owner of the Western Australian branch of the Red Star Belgrade Rugby League Pty Ltd. He is also the chief commercial officer of Flick Sports. Flick Sports securing of the digital rights to the UEFA championship "has left industry giant Optus scrambling for a marque event to anchor the telco streaming platform". This is every sporting clubs dream, to be in at the ground level with an exciting new company that appears to have a great future. This can be the best type of off-field revenue you can get, you know how it can go with these start-ups one day you haven`t heard of them, next day they can be valued in the billions. I was reading recently of the afl`s not-so-successful investments in a tech start up. Great news for Kleyweg and hopefully that means great news for Red Star Belgrade.

  2. Yeah. I'd never heard of him but he seems like a huge RL fan.

  3. Weight still 160. Last night - Row (5:04, 709m), 15 Air Squats, 15 Sit Ups (to knees), 20 Push Ups (from Knees), 10 Ring Incline Pull Up. Basically a variation of the Crossfit Baseline test, it has a 9 min cut off, but last night was just a run through to see how it goes. The sit ups were the worst, which I didn't expect. Full Baseline - 500 Meter Row, 40 Air Squats, 30 Sit-Ups, 20 Push-Ups, 10 Pull-Ups - for time (9mins max).

  4. Where to start and how many rants in one post? That is the question. 1. Golden Globs and other award ceremonies. Jeez, is there no escape from this tripe. I get that some stars are really good - Alec Guinness is a prim example for me. The rest of them are just playing themselves. I get that, just as I get the enjoyment that we can (all?) get from their work. But PLEEEZE, can we have an end to the sight of these people masturbating en masse in public because they've been awarded a gold-plated plastic statue? 2. Trout-pouting. How bizarre, and stupid do these people look? 3. The Crown. Shirley, no one really watches this stuff do they. Please tell me that no one on here watches it. 4. The endless saturation coverage of working-from-home. What about the 60% or more of the workforce who can't do that?

  6. Of course, the serious Yang to Monkey's delirious Yin was The Water Margin. Both were based on old Chinese classics. “Do not despise the snake for having no horns, for who is to say it will not become a dragon? So does one just man become an army…”

  7. This is very encouraging and indicates that they are indeed slowly moving down into lower age groups. First-ever U14 match, full 13-a-side. Even more encouraging that Red Star was not one of the teams involved. Also two female refs got some experience with the whistle too! https://twitter.com/SerbianRL/status/1366081815442837504?s=20

  8. Hi Rocket Not much has changed sadly , but to be fair , Melbourne's media does this to all other sports as well , its AFL dominated whilst other sports get what space is left over . In saying that , Melbourne Storm has developed a great following and the sport is well admired in the city amongst regular folk, for example a lot of people follow their AFL team and the Storm , i hold season tickets for North Melbourne Kangaroos in AFL and Melb Storm in NRL. A lot of people do this ..... Casey is a large/growing area of Melbourne , working class , with a high number of people with heritage from the pacific islands , so im sure RL is popular out that way. We have 17 clubs in the Melbourne metropolitan area , closest club near me are the Mernda Dragons who run a junior only system , thats where my two nephews will play.
