  1. Yes…they were the original colours…not sure when they changed but they wore red and white hoops throughout 60s and 70s (and reflected in the long standing programme cover)
  2. Also talk of coaching team changes at Roosters and Robinson bringing him in as his assistant.
  3. Good luck to him…….but all those tries against Hornets were forward passes!
  4. While I am sure we dont know all the details of the Dale-Hornets bust up some of the actions of Gauge/Dale were unforgivable and will never be forgotten. There were no doubts problems but Gauge showed no intention of trying to resolve them to the benefit of all parties…real poor leadership. The Fiji game was a must and a way had to be found to make it happen. Still coming from Down South he wouldnt understand the history of the Fijian link to the town and the strong bond between the Fijian community and the club. As for the trophy cabinet……its not as if Dale have ever had anything to fill one is it? Maybe they are storing those unsold share certificates in it.
  5. I think the fans of all clubs outside superleague would agree with your final paragraph …well said. But is anybody listening at the RFL (or should it be IMG)? I think not.
  6. Come on you lot……the pasties are only one win behind the sleeping giants, the hornets, and we still have to play them down on the riviera. Surely you can do us a favour…and thrash them. We might be a little easier on you when you come to Spotland if you do.
  7. He said he has no interest in pursuing a claim against the rugby league authorities.
  8. Dale cannot afford the number of employees they have. It reminds me of the story about the minister for health showing a member of the US house of representatives around NHS head office. “ This is an amazing organisation” says the yank, “how many people work here?” “ About half of them” replied the minister
  9. I suppose they will have to play two games a week to fit in the two postponed games. That could take its toll.
  10. It certainly was and could have been more. Knights hitting form at the right time. Dolphins, Bulldogs, rabbits, sharks and dragons left. I think they will make the 8.
  11. Interesting to compare this list with the top try scorers list.
  12. Agree…..but maybe the RFL will agree to this given the circumstances. Weren’t a couple of games cancelled last season because of the absence of medical cover? I am not sure if they were played later in the season or what, if any, sanctions were imposed.
  13. No one expects them to put this money in. They have come up with the ‘offer’ and the strings attached. I think what the Dale fans want is a well run club and thats something they havent had since the new board came in. The former chairman who led the club through the most successful period in the clubs history (and was generally a good friend to Hornets) indicated he would be interested in returning. A member of the current Dale board ridiculed him and his interest on social media.
  14. Pure speculation……no weekend dates available…midweek trip at pretty short notice requiring part time players of a winless team to take time off work for a meaningless game (no implications for promotion or play offs) at the other end of the country. Hate to guess what the attendance would be. I hope I am wrong. I often am!
  15. Obviously the idea of performance related pay hasnt made it. to the corridors of RFL, otherwise Rimmer would be paying the RFL.
  16. Wow….and you have been back using Sydney trains for more? I have had my own instances of ###### ups on trains though mine relate more to the intercity trains. Travelling on the Newcastle to Sydney train after the Eng v NZ world cup game in 2008. Train stops in the middle of nowhere …pitch black. After about an hour we are told that further down the line some bloke had jumped of a bridge and killed himself so line closed. We had to walk down the line for about 2 miles to reach the next station and then wait for a bus replacement. I was staying in a hotel in Gosford with my wife who didnt go to the game and told her Id be back about midnight. You can imagine what awaited me when I eventually walked in at 4am.
  17. Rochdale also have London Skolars at home, the game postponed last weekend….but I have my doubts whether it will be played
  18. They have had 12 months of promises and commitments they haven't lived up to. There is no mention of the other members of the board, including the supporters trust member. And the best two words in the statement are ‘trust me’. Folks usually say that when they have no intention of telling you whats really going on. They are running the club like Boris Johnson ran the country.
  19. Some of the comments border on arrogance and being condescending. I think we are seeing the real Simon Gauge and Richard Knight. There is no future for the club while this pair are calling the shots.
  20. Amazing isnt it….while the northern hemisphere burns to a cinder Rochdale Hornets game is postponed because of a waterlogged pitch! What were they thinking …arranging a game for the same day as the Old Trafford test match!
  21. Reynolds would by higher on my list. Take him out of the Broncos team and they are back among the also rans.
  22. The batman and robin pair looking to get the ground as security have now issued a statement that is astounding in its arrogance.
