Leeds Wire
Saw Del Amitri in that London last night and it was largely boring due to the sound being too quiet and idiots talking throughout, but they played this when everyone left to go the bar. Absolutely cracking tune. Imagine Bob Dylan meets King Creosote and Del Amitri and they agree to write something together. We're a nation of caners Excusers, explainers We're wasting away every night, every day Assuring ourselves we're blameless Of everything heading their way We use and we use, throw away and away Caning the plains, planing the cane Jetting the snuff and snuffing the pain Nothing's enough, nothing's enough A sniff on a cuff and a fag to a flame Downing the foam and filling the drain Ravenous men, ravenous girls Ravage it all until nothing remains Blue yonder, the wonder Of getting beyond the pale Slipping out of the jailed brain to a cage We made in a rage of thirst Thirst for ease, thirst for plunder Thirst for junk and speed and candour Thirst for splendour, a binge, a bender Return to sender Burn the canopy churn the blender Rape the barley, bend the fender Burn the embers, burn the embers Cane and cane and cane dissenters Ream the renters, shame the campers Stamp the punters through Members get a tent to hurl into We all know where we're going to We're a nation of caners Who could blame us – Have you seen the state of what They left for us to use? The Sweet were underrated as a rock band. Few years back a blurry clip of them doing "Set Me Free" on Lift Off with Ayshea briefly appeared on YouTube. It`s quasi thrash metal. That was the beauty of Lift Off, famous artists would do album tracks, not just their latest single. All at about quarter to five in the afternoon. Another beauty was Ayshea. On the subject of Valerie Leon. - According to Wiki, they started selling Hai Karate again in 2014.

John Drake
Currently listening to the new album by the hip and happening Dame Elton John. It's a bunch of collaborations with trendy young pop folk my generation has never heard of and a few reliable old stagers. Jolly good it is too, I'm enjoying it. Astonishingly, it has already spawned an actual Number 1 in the hit parade, for what I'd say is the least interesting track on it, Cold Heart, a mash up of some of Elt's old songs, part peformed by Dua Lipa. His voice ain't what it was, but he still knows how to write a good tune. .
Johnoco
I was rather surprised to see an interview with Elton John, talking about the cover of Nothing Else Matters with Miley Cyrus and he was praising Metallica to the skies. I was taken aback by his praise for the band. Edited October 25, 2021 by Johnoco

Danny Baker, in his autobiography, noted that Elton was one of the most frequent customers at the record shop where Danny worked as a teenager, and bought all sorts of music even back then. 1 "We are easily breakable, by illness or falling, or a million other ways of leaving this earthly life.
