The main artist of Viz is from Pontefract i believe, would explain why the area is mentioned frequently.

He certainly does! I've been an avid 'lender' of said publication and all their earlier annuals for over 20 odd years now! Doesn't put me in a good light that really does it??

Bertie Blunt - now he had one rude parrot!!!

(and just to hog the thread, 3 in a row..... B) )

Wonder what would be the odds on getting in touch with him and asking him if they would be interested in writing a Rovers themed story????

Could just see Daryl being interviewed by Roger Mellie, the man on the telly :P

We all thought the Moyles thing was a bit daft to start with, but look at the publicity that brought!!

Shouldn't that be a bored tourist?

I don't know what the fuss is about. When I was a lad about 70years ago if you wanted to play with the Square lads you had to come down said mountain on a bit of bratishing. Often flew my kite (two sticks a bit of flour paste and a big ball of string off cnoveyor belt from pit), from top of mountain. Not 7 miles high you say. It seemed it when you were 5 years old. Oh the memories. Me dad brought me a pick from Ackton Hall so I wouldn't feel out of place when we played outside opposite Phipps Street. I reckon the secret has been hidden in Dobie's workhouse for over 100 years, A pity they have finally found the secret plans.
