Salford City Reds 12-4 Harlequins RL after 23:00 minutes.

Harlequins have made some pretty poor options with the ball in hand as a pass from Randall finds touch and from the scrum Matty Smith will extend the home sides lead.

Holdsworth 2/2

Salford City Reds 14-4 Harlequins RL after 25:00 minutes.

Harlequins just caught out by referee Bentham for laying on as an ironic cheer emanates from the Shed and Holdsworth will gladly step up to extend the Salford lead out to ten points with the easy shot at goal.

Ellis for Harlequins on the power play trys to do a Jimmy Lowes going over from dummy half but some courageous Reds defence will wipe out any chance of a score which the Willows home support applauds.

Lucky escape for Salford as O'Callaghan (not John) scores for Harlequins despite the the Salford players pleas for a knock-on and after a brief consultation with the in-goal official and touch judge the try won't stand and we'll all come back for the knock-on.

Half-time is three minutes away.

The hooter goes and at oranges it's the scoreline of Salford City Reds 14-4 Harlequins RL.

Salford well worth the ten point lead, despite a shakey start.

Just minutes in at the start of the second half and once again the Harlequins indiscipline will see Holdsworth line up the extra two points, which he just pushes wide so a massive let off for the visitors.

Still 14-4 and from the restart Rob Purdham is called over by referee Bentham as yet again another penalty is given away by Quins and Holdsworth will once again line up the extra two.

Salford City Reds 16-4 Harlequins RL after 48:00 minutes.

Holdsworth nails the penalty conversion to go out to 4/5 and more importantly he'll put a two score gap between the sides.

Harlequins are playing some woeful Rugby League football as Jones-Bishop has the option to pass on the inside to Sharp put doesn't and finds himself in touch.

Salford City Reds 16-10 Harlequins RL after 59:00 minutes.

What a try, Tony Clubb on the last tackle power play with an outrageous fend off down the Salford line that the great Paul Anderson would have been proud of before the awareness to pass inside to the supporting Jones-Bishop who has too much toe for the chasing Gibson and from nothing, Harlequins are back in this game.

Danny Orr converts his first goal of the evening and it's game back on here 1/2.

Salford City Reds 16-10 Harlequins RL after 68:00 minutes.

I don't believe it, Salford have the ball on the Harlequins 10m line in center field and instead of going for the drop-goal they kick the ball dead and from the restart Karl Fitzpatrick puts in the try saving tackle as Luke Dorn does his best to orkestrate a try as time runs down here at the Willows.

Salford have gone from being in a comfortable position to one that resembles a nervous disposition.

Matty Smith with the drop-goal from 25m out following some calm and controlled play.

Salford City Reds 17-14 Harlequins RL after 76:00 minutes.

The Willows let's out a groan as Harlequins score following the Salford error on the restart and the countdown clock reads that only 4 minutes are left of play.

Danny Orr misses the conversion and from being in a comfortable position, Salford once again have it all to do as time runs down.

From the restart Harlequins are given a penalty for dissent as the Salford players claim once again a Harlequins knock-on but the referee isn't having any of it.

This is as tense and dramatic as they come as the countdown clock reads two minutes to go.

Result after a great game reads Salford City Reds 17-14 Harlequins RL.

The Quins crossfield kick is taken by Daniel Holdsworth and the clock will run dead meaning Salford complete the double over the men from the capital.

Thanks for the commentary Mick.

I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.

Surprised there were as many as that Jill tbh as with no Relegation at stake - a meaningless game I suppose. Even so with no other RL games on an apethetic effort from non partisan fans.

Maybe I am becoming an anti Franchise fan as games for 4/5 clubs are meaningless from now on.
