Widnes v Sheffield KO 7-30 PM Tonight.

Recommended Posts

Widnes Vikings 12-4 Sheffield Eagles after 40:00 minutes.

That will do it for the first half as Sheffield have a try disallowed by the video referee for being held up over the line.

Widnes just about worth the eight point lead.

No more than 2000 there.

Widnes Vikings 18-4 Sheffield Eagles after 46:00 minutes.

Try: Thackery

Goal: Craven 3/3

Sheffield scrum on the Widnes 10m line sees an audacious pass picked off by Thackery who goes 90m to score.

I actually felt sorry for the Eagles there.

Widnes Vikings 18-10 Sheffield Eagles after 62:00 minutes.

Try: Taulapapa

Goal: Brown 1/2

I know they've just scored but how much more dropped ball on the Widnes try line are Sheffield going to come up with?

They've had all the pressure in this second half, but have seriously struggled to convert the chances.

If they had, they would be out of sight by now.

It must be on par with what you have seen all season :lol:

Unfortunately this is slightly superior Paul as there's no Worrincy playing.

Widnes Vikings 24-10 Sheffield Eagles after 68:00 minutes.

Could be the game now.

Danny Craven looks a future Super League prospect when Widnes replace Castleford in 2012.

That'll be the game as Alex Roe drops the ball with the line open for Sheffield.

Mark Ashton's face says it all.

I can't see either of these sides getting close to Featherstone or Halifax in the playoffs.

Widnes Vikings 30-10 Sheffield Eagles after 80:00 minutes.

Attendance 2659

Which is respectable as Gerrard scores at the side of the posts and Craven converts to make this game in the bag.

Only Widnes's 4th home win tonight & the 1st time they have beat a side out side of the bottom 3 at home WTF

young Widnes full back looks promising.

Like I said they won't get near Halifax and Featherstone in the play-offs.

I would'nt say that as on their day they can beat anyone in this league, same for all the top 6 or 7 sides.

All depends on momentum, form, prep, confidence, luck etc

Like the 2nd half tonight it was all Sheff, but who won, some very good defence from Widnes tonight in that 2nd half.

You dont think Barrow have a chance in the PO's then Tommy ?

Call me stubborn or cynical but from what I've seen of the top eight this season, only Featherstone and Halifax have looked capable of doing the business for mine, but you are right in one respect in that on there day the likes of Leigh, Barrow, Widnes and Sheffield can pull the shock result.

Bill Arthur made a most valid point in that out of the last seven Grand Finals in both the Championship and Championship One, not one side finishing third or below has been in the showpiece event.

If this is to change your looking at Barrow, Leigh etc needing to win at either Post Office Road or the Shay and from what I've seen, it'll be the home sides contesting the final.

The longer it is since the improbable happened then the closer it is to the improbable happening.

I hope your right Padge, that must mean a Bradford win tomorrow then ;)

The word was improbable not impossible.

Didn't Swinton finish 4th in 06 when they made the final, after a golden point semi-final win against Celtic?

Widnes did well and deserved the points but do the sheffield players have an inability to learn from mistakes.. ball bounces in goal.. fumble fumble.. STICK YOUR FOOT THROUGH IT!!!!! and keep hold of the ruddy ball around the goal line.. try repeat sets etc.. so frustrating to watch as an eagles fan..
