Pie capital of Britian

Recommended Posts

Following on from our excellent recent achievements such as finishing 9th in 'Worst towns to live in the UK' and also finishing 1st in 'Unhappiest town in the UK' the brilliant town of Barrow has now become the 'Pie capital of Britian'

I have had one of the pies from the pie shop which would the award and they are a cut above.

Does anyone know what we are going to call the folk of Wigan, bearing in mind there is a swear filter on this forum.

Being a Leeds man I never knew there was shops that were ostensibly pie shops ,but I have always liked the pies at the DW .Although my favourite Pork pies still are Wilson's pies on match days at Headingley

Soon we will be dancing the fandango
FROM 2004,TO DO WHAT THIS CLUB HAS DONE,IF THATS NOT GREATNESSTHEN i DONT KNOW WHAT IS.

Where or what is 'Britian?'

And when they found our shadows

Grouped around the TV sets

They ran down every lead

They repeated every test

They checked out all the data on their lists

And then the alien anthropologists

Admitted they were still perplexed

But on eliminating every other reason

For our sad demise

They logged the only explanation left

This species has amused itself to death

No tears to cry no feelings left

This species has amused itself to death

it's a place without grammar police

The "Pickle Stabbers". On account of the number of Wiganers with a single tooth.

On a more important point as a Northerner the best pasty I ever had was in Cornwall and it is not too much of a stretch to think they would also be responsible for the best pies too.

Have you gone raving mad The best pork pies are or were from if memoty serves from hagenbachs in wakefield or hector ellis in bretton. Or so i was always told when i lived there.Any other kind of pie is very inferior including Hollands pies.I rest my case.

anyone over 60yrs old will agree if they lived in wakefield..

I once took a Widnes supporter to Belle Vue that ground of renown and he raved about the pie n chips.
