Kade Snowden has announced he is to retire at the end of the season. His body is telling him enough is enough. He's 29.

Maybe the goings on in his time at Cronulla didn't help him in the long term.

TIGERS fullback James Tedesco’s Origin chances have been dealt a serious blow with the star fullback to miss 4-6 weeks with a fractured shoulder blade.

The brilliant fullback went off at halftime of the Tigers victory over the Rabbitohs last Thursday and will be unavaliable for the Origin opener against the Maroons on June 1st.

Warriors winger Manu Vatuvei has been granted leave on medical grounds after being stood down by the club following reported abuse of prescription drugs on a night out.

A club statement on Tuesday said Vatuvei had been given time off from the Auckland-based side.

"Following medical advice received today, Manu is now on leave. We would ask that everyone respects his and his family's right to privacy at this time," Warriors managing director Jim Doyle said.

The New Zealand Herald reported that five of them had admitted taking a cocktail of sleeping pills and energy drinks.

It said the players who made admissions were New Zealanders Manu Vatuvei, Ben Matulino and Bodene Thompson, along with Samoa representative Sam Lisone and Tonga's Albert Vete.

Another Tongan player, Konrad Hurrell, reportedly tagged along as the group's driver.

Yes they are relatively young blokes, and as humans are prone to error.

Hang on,... no they are just idiots.

Vatuvei and the others can have their privacy all they want. As for respect, no, that's another matter.

Veteran backrower Mitchell Aubusson is set to ink a new three-year-deal which should make him a Roosters player for life.

Melbourne lock Dale Finucane has exclusively revealed that he’ll be staying at the Storm for at least another season.

Finucane has officially activated an option in his favour for 2017 but Market Watch can reveal the club is hopeful of extending his deal even longer.

Wests Tigers flyer Josh Addo-Carr is poised to sign a three-year-deal with Melbourne.

After making his NRL debut for the Tigers against the Storm back in round seven, the 20-year-old has impressed Craig Bellamy enough to sign a deal which will see him move to the Storm until at least the end of 2019.

Meanwhile, the Storm have signed Ryan Morgan for the rest of the season.

************

Manly have locked down the services of promising forward Addin Fonua-Blake until the end of season 2017.

************

It was in the pipeline for weeks but finally Wests Tigers have signed Elijah Taylor for the rest of the season. Now Taylor’s at the club, negotiations for a longer term deal will continue.

The Tigers have also secured Tim Simona until the end of 2017 with the Samoan international taking up an option for next season.

************

Canberra have locked in veteran backrower Sia Soliola for another two years.

************

Gold Coast flyer Anthony Don lost his place in the NRL side but has still done enough to score a new deal.

Don has re-signed with the Titans for another two seasons with the 25-year-old’s focus now on earning an NRL recall.

************

After missing out on Lachlan Coote and Kane Elgey, St George Illawarra are exploring the idea of pursuing Luke Keary, at least that’s the rumour doing the rounds this week.

How did Gallen escape a charge for his forearm to Maguire? Looked quite deliberate to me.

One of the most under-rated forwards in the NRL IMO. I never got why the Doggies let him go and kept tubby Eastwood or lazy Williams

Finucane, Jackson & Graham were the reason the doggies pack was so good, particularly when they first all played together in 2012.

Melbourne have had a good week of signing/re-signings

Finucane has been a war horse for Storm.

He has settled well into the pattern of play and given 100%

He's the kind of unsung hero that fans take to.

He gives total commitment and works hard every minute he's on the field.

He's one in a long line of such forwards Storm sign and who come good.

Old sooky lala Chris Grevsmuhl released to join Penrith and good riddance I say. Hopefully this will give Souths a little bit of room to bring Nathan Peats back then shift Damian Cook to the GC (Well in a perfect world that's what would happen).
