Melbourne will be without two premiership players for the foreseeable future, after both Tim Glasby and Curtis Scott suffered injuries in the Storm’s 50-10 win over the Warriors on ANZAC Day.

Glasby broke his thumb during play in the first half, while Scott suffered a leg injury after it was caught under an opponent during the second 40.

“Unfortunately Tim has suffered a broken thumb and has undergone surgery today – we are expecting him to miss 4-6 weeks of football,” Storm Football Director Frank Ponissi told melbournestorm.com.au on Thursday.

“Scans suggest Curtis has suffered a high ankle sprain and he will miss the next few weeks.

The NRL has issued an official warning to Broncos five-eighth Anthony Milford for what they believe to be a kick to the groin of Jason Clark.

The match review committee handed down a concerning act notice after they unearthed vision of Milford extending his boot towards Clark and connecting with his groin region during Thursday’s game at ANZ Stadium.

Milford was in the action of kicking in play, and Clark was moving towards the kicker from the defensive line.

The NRL will allege Milford continued moving his leg forward in a deliberate act towards Clark, who grimaces as the boot connects with his groin.

Milford escaped sanction but has been officially warned over the incident.

Andrew McCullough is supposed to be out for several weeks with ligament and tendon damage to his elbow. He is reported to be back training at Hooker in what could be a remarkable early return from injury. The Broncos are desperate for his return given Rd 8 saw them also lose Josh McGuire for several weeks with a torn anterior ligament in his ankle. The horrendous run of ACL injuries looks to have claimed another victim in Tony Williams who will have scans to confirm. Panthers have lost fullback Dylan Edwards for either 5-6 weeks or the season. Edwards dislocated his shoulder. The damage to his shoulder requires surgery. He will met with a specialist to determine wether he can attempt to play out the season and have off season surgery or not. Recovery time post surgery will be 4-6 months. Richard Kennar suffered what was feared to be a long term ankle injury but scans have come back positive and he will only likely miss 1-2 weeks. Yet another ACL injury with Manly's Lachlan Croker creates interesting selction head aches for Trent Barrett and could see the return of Jackson Hastings. The Sea Eagles presently only have 20 fit NRL Squad players with Jonathon Wright also suffering a wrist injury in ISP along with Jack Gosiewski a broken hand in NRL. Matthew Wright suffered a concussion and will have to pass protocols to be available this week. Scott Sorenson also needs to clear protocols after concussion. Josh Dugan left the field just before full time with an ankle injury. He pulled up much better the following morning and is expected to recover for Rd 9 or miss 1 game at worst. Storm's Curtis Scottwill miss a few weeks with a high ankle sprain. Cameron Munster also suffered a mild ankle sprain late in the match. It is not yet know if Munster will miss any games. Melbourne's forwards depth is being tested with Glasby suffering a broken thumb. They should have Dale Finucane back for Rd 9 though. The Warriors injury woes continue with Isaac Luke suffering a knee cartlidge injury which looks set to sideline him for 4-6 weeks. In more positive news they expect to have Johnson, Harris, and Kata back for Rd 9.

You won't believe it, it is so unusualJosh Dugan is injured. Noooo... really injured this time:

The injury list at the Cronulla Sharks is growing with Josh Dugan the latest star player to face time on the sidelines.

Dugan suffered the injury in the closing moments of the Sharks win over the Titans, limping from the field after what had seemed at the time to be an innocuous incident.

Dugan went for scans today and it’s since been revealed that he has broken his foot.

The injury is set to see Dugan sidelined for the next 4-6 weeks.

Penrith prop Tim Browne has decided to retire following a freak bowel injury which left him in hospital.

The 30-year-old suffered the career-ending blow while playing in the Intrust Super Premiership in March and needed to be rushed into emergency surgery where damage to his bowel, spleen and kidneys was repaired.

He remained in intensive care in Nepean Hosital for two days.

This casualty list keeps growing...

Parramatta Eels have confirmed that forward Tony Williams has suffered a season-ending knee injury following yesterday’s victory against the Wests Tigers.

Scans today have confirmed that Williams has suffered a rupture of his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) on his right knee.

Williams had only recently returned to the field after recovering from an ACL injury to his left knee suffered last season while playing for Tonga.

Williams will now consult with the Eels medical staff over the next few days and then begin his recovery and rehabilitation.

I read somewhere that he was of the field 66% of the time last year. I wonder if he gave 1/3 of his salary to charities.

I'm sure he'd like to be healthy and he certainly doesn't get hurt on purpose, but having a marquee signing/superstar player injured so often is disrupting. It was amusing when he was playing for other teams, not so much now.

North Queensland Cowboys rugby league player Scott Bolton has been charged with the alleged indecent assault of a woman at Bondi Beach in Sydney overnight.

The NRL confirmed that its Integrity Unit has been made aware of the allegations and that Bolton, 30, has been granted bail to appear in court later this month.

Police said they were called to licenced premises on Campbell Parade about 10:50pm on Saturday after a female patron reported she had been indecently assaulted.

Officers arrested Bolton on Sunday morning at about 9:20am, following an investigation, at Waverley Police Station.

According to the NRL, Bolton has played 215 games for the Cowboys since making his debut in 2007.

He was a member of the club's 2015 premiership-winning team.

Roosters forward Victor Radley will serve a one-match ban for a careless high tackle on Manly prop Martin Taupau in the aftermath of Sunday's Telstra Premiership clash at Allianz Stadium.

Radley was unsuccessful in having his grade two charge downgraded in front of a judiciary panel on Tuesday night.

His Roosters teammate Joseph Manu has avoided a suspension with an early plea after being charged with dangerous contact over a tackle on Manly's Dylan Walker that drew criticism from Sea Eagles coach Trent Barrett.

Panthers prop Jack Hetherington has received a one-match ban after pleading guilty to making dangerous contact to the head or neck of Cowboys forward Shaun Fensom, while Tyson Frizell and Joseph Tapine have avoided bans after pleading guilty to their charges.

Bryce Cartwright is struggling - that's the stinging criticism former NRL player Michael Ennis slapped on the Gold Coast Titans' fill-in half.

During the Titans' 32-18 loss to Canberra on Saturday, the Gold Coast side were outplayed in every department by the Raiders.

Too many of Canberra's tries looked a walk in the park, as the Titans missed 45 tackles. Worryingly, Cartwright was responsible for eight of them

An emotional Scott Bolton has fronted the media on Tuesday afternoon regarding the alleged indecent assault in Sydney on Saturday the 5th of May.

Bolton, who is clearly in a distressed state, struggled to get through the statement and looked like he was about to break down at any point.

“I understand that our members, partners and fans would like me to talk about the allegation that has been made against me,” Bolton said.

“However, since this is a matter that involves the police and NRL integrity unit, I am unable to make any comments about the incident right now.

“What I can say is that I am taking this matter very seriously and am cooperating fully with both the police and the NRL integrity unit.

“I have been approved to play by the NRL and the club during this investigation. And so I will work with the coach and our football department to decide whether I play this week or not.

“I would ask that you respect the privacy of my wife and my family who are supporting me through this difficult time. Thank you.”

It has been revealed that cases where NRL clubs are fined for breaches of concussion rules could be kept secret from the public.

Last year three clubs — the Knights, Dragons and Titans — were issued breach notices and fines totalling $350,000 because they failed to remove players for head injury assessments despite those players exhibiting signs of concussion.

The headline amounts of the fines sound like they are deterrent sized, but much of the fine has been suspended:

the NRL fined the Titans $150,000 with $100,000 suspended. The Dragons and Knights were each fined $100,000 with half the amount suspended.

The NRL Judiciary has charged four Storm players following Saturday night's win over the Titans.

Cameron Munster and Josh Addo-Carr can take an early plea for their grade one dangerous contact charges. If they do so, they will be eligible to play this Saturday night against Manly.

Cameron Smith (grade two) and Sam Kasiano (grade one) have been charged with dangerous contact for separate incidents during the second half of the game.

Both players can have their points penalties reduced with an early plea. Should they accept the charges with an early please, they will still exceed the 100-point threshold which would result in a one week suspension.

Melbourne Storm have until midday on Monday to respond to the charges.

Melbourne Storm has decided to accept early guilty pleas for the four players charged for incidents coming out of Saturday night's match against the Titans.

Cameron Smith and Sam Kasiano will both miss this Saturday's Round 11 game against the Sea Eagles, while Josh Addo-Carr and Cameron Munster have also accepted their pleas and will receive 75 demerit points each and both are free to play this weekend.

Seeing what happened to Surgess at the judiciary when he decided to fight his charge this is a common sense call.
