The bunker is being de-bunked from 2 officials to one so that all decisions are totally  correct and there’s no differences of opinion . The man remaining is automatically the one who’s always right , and there’ll be no more controversy or wrong calls at all anymore . Step in the right direction I’d say ... the next step needs to be taking the number down again from 1 . Apparently by the way according to Annesley , the referee this season has shown increased confidence to make his own decisions . He’s been living in a sealed bunker if he thinks that

The whole point of having the bunker is to get correct judgements. Given all the technical aids they have that should be possible. Sadly it isn’t. There is still human error, and sometimes  a huge amount of time taken. In principle it’s a good idea. In practice it’s not always living up to its brief. On balance I think I’d keep it but wouldn’t be upset to see it go. By the way two to one does stop disagreements but doesn’t necessarily make judgements better. It could make them worse.

Josh Addo-Carr

Situation - Storm want his transfer details sorted. If not very soon they say he will have to wait until the Finals are over to sort things out.

They also emphasised that they expect to get a player of commensurate quality within such a deal.

The backstop is that he is contracted to Melbourne until the end of the 2021 season

We've talked on this forum during this season about how ordinary and injury prone Matt Moylan seems to have become.

Now it looks as if Sharks want to move him on to another club. There's some that think that Sharks will have to pay some of his wages to encourage any other club to take him on.

Tim Glasby has retired from the game

Tim has retired on medical grounds . This has been approved by the NRL. He has had several head knocks this season at Knights and some symptoms of concussion lingered so as to cause concern.

He has had some neurological tests and the outcome is that it would be best for him to stop playing.

We reported in the R19  Match Thread that Shaun Johnson had suffered a nasty injury which looked like a ruptured achilles tendon.

This has now been confirmed on the Cronulla Sharks web site.

Sharks tell us he is due to see a surgeon tomorrow (Mon 21st Sept)

As for his team mate Royce Hunt we have yet to learn the full details of his injury.

He is due to go for scans on his knee today (Sun 20th Sept)

The early diagnosis however was a rupture to his patella and similar to Johnson he faces a long stint on the sidelines.

If Josh Addo-Carr is to leave Melbourne Storm as announced then Storm want a quality replacement even if it is only on a one year arrangement.

Who will they go for or get?

They would have been happy to sign Alex Johston, but he has re-signed and shown his committment to Souths.

Other names mentioned are David Nofoaluma, whom Tigers are not keen to let go and Brent Naden has been mentioned.

Storm have said they won't release The Fox unless they get a suitable replacement. He is contracted to them until the end of the 2021 season.

Bryce Cartwright is moving on from the Gold Coast...
He has lost it at Titans. He went home to Sydney for personal reasons and the Titans have released him from his contract.

Probably the biggest underachiever and disappointment after early promise going about

Whoever they get surely can’t possibly be as unbalanced a move as the Harry Grant-Paul Momirovski loan swap deal this season.

Dragons young Tristan Sailor has been told he will not be at the club in 2021

He has played five games for the Red V after making debut in 2019, but apparently isn’t in their future plans.

Bit too small maybe? Certainly didn`t lack courage or flair, damn shame, must be tough for a young bloke like that . There were rumours of Storm being interested.

His Dad is quoted as saying he didn’t get a fair go at Dragons. Hopefully he’ll get a chance to try to prove himself elsewhere. He needs a chance, some hard work and a bit of luck.

Nathan Peats has been at Titans for five seasons. The club has announced that he’s leaving and will play elsewhere.

One of the most overrated players of recent years . Justin obviously had his number right away . His totally one dimensional dummy half game contributed massively to the turgid unsuccessful style of the Titans over sometime . A 9 has to do more now than  pick it up and pass it a thousand times a game and tackle a lot
