Bleep1673 Posted June 15, 2021 Share Posted June 15, 2021 When I was unemployed in 1984, my mother worked as an Auxillary (now HCA) on the Maternity Unit (now closed), at Hope Hospital ((now Salford Royal), when she was told by the head of theatres, that they were looking for trainee anaesthetics technicians, and told my Mum to tell me to apply. So I did. At the interview Miss O'Shea moved my application form to one side, and I saw the one underneath, with 3x the O levels, and a couple of A levels. I was devastated. I knew I had been out brained again. What I didn't know was that Miss O'Shea & my Mum were mates, I got a phone call 14.06.1984 2 days before my birthday telling me I'd got the job. 30 years later....
