Sunshine at Hornets

Recommended Posts

Enjoyed a stunning match day experience at Spotland yesterday. Super hero costumes galore 🏈 Leigh Miners v Rochdale kids for starters 🏈 Super league LDSL Rochdale v Wigan 🏈 Hornets v  Warrington walking RL 🏈 A field full of kids for the Mayors dash at half time 🏈 capped of by a good win to move fourth in the table.  and 891 through the gate. Well done to all involved.

It seems the appointment of local lad Matt Rigby was a masterstroke and the Hornets volunteers are doing a great job.

Things certainly seem to be on the up since Matt came on board.

We can certainly score points and there isnt a better half back pairing in the division but hopefully we can improve defensively over the rest of the season. Cornwall hadnt scored 20 points in any game prior to the weekend.

Yes, Matt is doing a great job. He’s very hard working and really enthusiastic.

I think that we need to thank everyone concerned yesterday from the hard working directors to the volunteers who willing give their time to Hornets. Together they all help to keep this club of ours afloat and hopefully on to future success.

Yesterday was pretty special  at the ground but everyone continues to help at all times and I’m sure it goes without saying how grateful we are.

Looking back just over 12 months since his arrival it does on the face of it seem like a very strategic and well thought out appointment by Andy and the board.

“The board are absolutely delighted to appoint Matthew who is a talented, dedicated and ambitious professional who cares deeply about our club, town, borough and the sport.

"Rugby league is in a period of proposed change due to the exciting partnership with IMG, and we need to ensure Rochdale Hornets are firmly on the front foot and Matt’s appointment is key for us on so many levels.

"We recognise the commitment of him leaving his role in London and relocating back to Rochdale to join us, and that is testament to the conviction he has that he can make a difference here.”

100% agree with this post.

Its clearly a team effort from BOD to Matt, All Hornets, the staff, players and supporters.

No boom or bust approach which we are seeing elsewhere and always only every ends up one way, but plenty steps forward being taken and its pleasing to see 👏

A bit of a cheap shot….that might comeback to bite us. No need for it. As far as I can see its all boom so far.

Lets stick to lauding the small positive steps we are taking towards a brighter future.

Onward Hornets Onward.
