Agreed. Sad to say the Heavy Woollen Derby attracts very little interest nowadays as it is no longer special, and even the Christmas "friendly" dilutes it. Personally I would rather we played no more than twice a year, notwithstanding being drawn together in cup games.

Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.

If the season started early December and finished August 

the Boxing Day game would be a league game
