there's a warm welcome for all

Even with the evening kick-off, temperatures expected to be mid 20’s.  We shall have to control the mercurial 40yr youngster Paul Sykes who is in your announced 21 squad.  Our squad is much changed from the Doncaster game and hopefully the final team can at least keep it close.

For those of you travelling be aware that there are roadworks right outside the ground which might cause some delays. Give yourselves plenty of time.

Safe journeys.

Doncaster 42 Hornets 20 , That is not an improvement

Well, we didn't crack any pots in Cornwall so you never know - no cocky arrogance from Dewsbury fans I can assure you and there is a history of "interesting" games between the clubs down the years.

Dewsbury 42- Hornets 0

Hopefully some positives for Hornets?

You had a couple of unfortunate injuries but the team performance was actually something to be proud of. Your boys never gave up nor started feeling sorry for themselves - they kept going for the full 80 minutes but came up against a strong team playing well on the night. You have some quality young players who should bode well for the future and you still have a decent chance of making the playoffs this season.

Top six is now out of the question

You could be right, then….NWC have 5 home games including Hunslet, Hornets and Doncaster, but Oldham and Dewsbury away.  NWC’s current points difference of 74, compared with us at -99 is a killer, but…

For sure, we have to win most, especially NWC (and Oldham!).

As it is there is a natural order to the division with teams beating all those below them and none of the teams above them. crusaders above us on points difference only because they have played more games against bottom three than we have. If it continues like that then 6 place will depend on the game at cru …win and we are 6, lose and we miss out on points difference. of course either of us might pull a rabbit out of the hat by beating  hunslet or workington…but i wouldnt bet on it.

Looks like we are in a fight for 6th, we have shown real ability at times this season but lacked the instinct to make that ability count. The games we've got left mostly feature teams we should beat, only Crusaders and Oldham should be challenging. Crusaders still have Hunslet, us and Doncaster, all dificult games. The plan is simple win all our games and again vs Crusaders is season defining.
