Old Frightful Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 Remember his blonde locks playing for Saints at the Boulevard, then moving on to Salford, he now joins son Steve in an ever expanding fantastic Heavenly RL team. 3 "You've only won one trophy SINCE 1985"
DG70 Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 Great memories watching Eric at the willows on a Friday night back in the day, lovely guy.
doc Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 At Widnes, I remember the cries of 'Eric, show us ya teeth', and him grinning. RIP to a great player. 1
Hopping Mad Posted August 24, 2023 Posted August 24, 2023 A comprehensive obituary here: https://www.runcornandwidnesworld.co.uk/news/23743644.ex-saints-salford-widnes-forward-eric-prescott-died/ 1
Ullman Posted August 24, 2023 Posted August 24, 2023 I remember him well. What a fine player he was. "I'm from a fishing family. Trawlermen are like pirates with biscuits." - Lucy Beaumont.
Szymala Posted August 24, 2023 Posted August 24, 2023 Starred on the wing in Saints' 1970 Championship Final defeat of Leeds and then went on to become one of the best and most consistent forwards in the game for over a decade. Says everything about the strength of the game then that he was unable to earn international honours because he was central to trophy winning teams at Salford and Widnes. RIP.
sentoffagain2 Posted August 24, 2023 Posted August 24, 2023 Very good ball handling forward he always put himself about after starting his career in the threequarters.RIP.
Hanover XIII Posted August 24, 2023 Posted August 24, 2023 Loved watching him at Widnes later in his career. Such a good player.
