In the run up to Saints first try Lomax was hit very late after passing but haven’t seen/heard any comment on that.

Would've been a penalty if the try hadn't been scored.

I’ll comment on this while it’s a Saints player so can’t get accused of bias. I think it’s incredibly harsh penalising when players are taking the ball to the line and then defenders are tackling then a fraction of a second after the ball has gone. I think it’s something the game needs to look at but imagine I’m in the minority here.

Agree entirely. When Leigh played Catalans, I was somewhat bemused by some of the decisions when watching them back on the big screen. There were 2 yellow cards for a late shot + another offence (one shoulder charge and one high shot), and a penalty given where the defender could do nothing about. The night before, a couple of very soft ones had been given the night before in the Wakey - Cas game. I thought the ones given in the CC final were soft as well.

But the one mentioned here wasn't a player committing a defender. Gildart was chasing Lomax, and tackled him after the pass. It was the sort of tackle that you see players chasing back make, and would've been ok if it wasn't too late. But it was late enough to warrant a penalty if the try hadn't been scored. Not sure it would warrant anything more than that. (Though I wouldn't particularly argue against him being banned, I'd quite like to see him dropped!)

Nope. I appreciate it is maybe too nuanced for some, but I said I didn’t think there was an issue and I’d be astounded if the MRP saw it differently.

You think that’s me saying the MRP is always right and I should think everything they do is right or wrong, but that’s overly simplistic. The reality is that I was saying despite how trigger happy the MRP can be, I still would have been astounded if they saw anything untoward with the Percival tackle.

Feel free to extrapolate that to wherever you like, but they will be your words not mine.

As for the saints fans constantly questioning the MRP approach to Saints, a cursory look at redvee will show you iI’m amongst the few pointing out that it’s all echo chamber conspiracy nonsense. They get some right and some wrong, my point was that I could not fathom how anyone could decide Percival hit him high because it’s on video and he didn’t.

I am not sure you grasped the point at all, but that’s fine, it isn’t an easy one to grasp. You seem overly defensive about it, but that’s fine by me. You can write what you like, and argue with yourself all day long as far as I’m concerned.
