It’s felt like a very long off season so really looking forward to tomorrow. I won’t be reading too much into the result but looking forward to seeing how this team goes. As people have mentioned this forward pack is one of the best we have had for a while and I think Costello will make a huge difference in the centre for us. COYR

I don’t expect much from the pre season games personally. Blow the cobwebs off and don’t pick up any injuries. Be good to see some of the new signings, really looking forward to see what Silva has to offer.

Good performance, think we looked pretty solid in defence and reasonably bright attacking. Hopefully Bulman is alright, didn't look good having to get carried off.

Solid performance, nothing too fancy and most of the lads looked fit. Liked Brad Walkers short passing game, happy to go right to the line creating gaps for others. Hopefully Bulman isn’t too serious. When you think Costello and Toal were missing from the backs and Silva, Burke and Gillam from down the middle maybe things aren’t as bad as some make out.

Played very good expansive rugby despite not being anywhere near full strength.

Brad Walker looked very good at 6. Kicked well, got a few line break assists and linked up with Johnson very well. I don't think we need to be in the market for one he looked very comfortable and contributed to the expansive rugby we played.

Pack wise we weren't anywhere near full strength missing Silva, Gillam and Makin in the middle. You didn't really notice it till Walker went off, the amateurs/furness raiders who played in the middle third of the game did okay but you could tell there was a drop off.

Greenwood was a threat on the edge made a few line breaks.

All in all promising.

1000 is a disappointing attendance given that the new sign-ups were potentially on show. Last week only 600 for Dan Toal. Hope this isn't an indication of a lack of interest in the Rugby this season? Maybe we've lost some floating fans to the high-flying Bluebirds?

1021 is decent for a pre season friendly

Agreed 1000 for a friendly against a very average Rochdale side is decent. A few championship clubs would take that as a average attendance for the year!

Thought Walker went well too at 6 deserved M.O.M. I am/was sceptical him being a 6 week in week out however played well today albeit against limited opposition.

Big drop off when the youngster came on, hopefully won't be required too much and the loan budget there for the season allows us not to expose them.

First glance of Mike Ogunwale looks raw but I'm sure cresta will be working hard on the fundamentals with him.

Torn hamstring. Big blow. Could be 2 - 3 months recovery, depending on the severity. Maybe Shane Toal will go back to the wing. Or even Brett Carter who's played well recently.

He won't actually miss that many league games even if that's the case but it's still a blow.

Id move Toal to the wing Broady at centre Cresswell at full back.

Clarke did well in patches who could be an option at centre. He made some strong carries after being bundled into touch trying to rectify his error, he just needs to do it more frequently.

Thought Walker looked very composed and a calming influence in the number 6 yesterday with his distribution of the ball being very good. Looks like he could be a really good pairing with Johnson. Overall that was a very good performance from Barrow, we had a few academy lads in that team as well and Rochdale are no push over of a team.
To think that to add to the starting lineup of yesterday we still have Burke, Ellis, Costello, Makin and Silva then I think we can have a good season. Bookies have us joint favourites for going down so hopefully we can prove them wrong.
