100%

not many would travel all that way for a friendly you’d have to imagine.

You’d be surprised but why would SL sanction a friendly after SL has already kicked off? 🤷🏼

So six teams are in favour. If they don’t send any of the teams who played in 2024 that’s five who aren’t interested.

They only need 4 teams.

also I think the NRL are very aware of these games being as competitive as possible which would rule out a few even potentially including the eels.

And from what I’ve seen there are just as many that aren’t as keen.

Fair enough. At least there are enough interested for it to proceed.

Will they need two separate Russel Crowe promos this time, one explaining the NRL rules then another explaining the Super League rules?

International rules?

Only if the NRL games are also played under them. Don’t hold your breath. Are SL dumb enough to have one game in the season played to different rules to every other match?

Quite possibly if the money is right?

Then that would bring the whole season into disrepute IMO.

Yeah it would, it just cannot happen as it would be a farce. Similarly it would be weird for everyone to have 2 different games after another with different rules. Try and explain that one to an American audience.

dumb...dumb...dumb...

Warning!:  They are thinking about doubling down on the dumbness.

I agree with you

It feels odd to agree with you

Say something else

Even at a basic level can you imagine a scenario where we have 2 close games and the NRL game is decided by a 2 point drop goal but in the SL one it just counts for 1 point. It just seems absurd.

Agreed....which might affect final places and play offs

The only parallel would be around maybe how referring often seems different at the start and end of the season. There have been some recent games where things would have been a binning earlier in the season

But at least all games in a round are affected the same way (after a RFK directive to refs)

Consistency is key in all aspects of sport

Yeah, great point.

I don’t even think they would have thought about that.

For the NRL to be even thinking about and discussing this means that there’s definitely something cooking up between the 2 comps in terms of a closer relationship in the future.
