I was introduced to these at work today, funny

Legends, the Pots.

There's some smashing youtube footage of them playing Glastonbury. Great fun, daft as brushes and everyone joining in the fun. I'll try and dig it out.

I was surprised that their brilliant Beer Olympics song didn't go viral before London 2012.

They've got a limited appeal but they are great entertainment. They claim to be from St Helens but their accents are east Lancs (Accrington?), so I don't get that bit, but hey...

Someone I work with in Westhoughton sounds exactly like the lead singer, and I mean exactly. I think he's from Wigan.

Dodgy 'video' but world class song. If you've never heard it, do yourself a favour. If not, regret it at leisure.

bloody hell I love that track

Here's a track...

After some unexpected delay, the second part of my turntable upgrade* has arrived! :)

*A replacement bearing and subplatter, which should bring improvements.

It is a NAD 533 - so a Rega with a different badge on it, yes.

There are some good reviews of the IsoKinetik ISOsub upgrade sub platters on the net you can get them with a ruby bearing as an extra. Regas are so easy to upgrade, have you seen the new Rega RP8 ?

The RP8 looks great, although well out of my financial league.

The ISOsub is what I ordered, although supply problems from IsoKinetik meant that the shop offered me the one with ceramic bearing and a refund of the difference as they'd received stock wrongly badged as having the ruby bearing.

It's quite well thought-out - as well as simple, clear instructions, you get a bit of dowel with a magnet on the end to extract the original (metal) bearing, an alcohol swab to clean the subplatter axle and a bottle of oil with a pipette.

It's recommended that you leave it running for 24 hours to bed in, so that's what it's doing right now, ready for when I get home this evening.

Which LP is going to get the honour of being the first to go for a spin?

Very good question! :D Most of my LPs are, due to space restrictions, up on a high and awkward-to-reach shelf, so it'll probably be one from the section closer to hand - possibly a Joni Mitchell album.

I'm having a music night, which starts off by nothing being on telly so wondering into the music channels and flicking through those incessantly, and then venturing onto YouTube as well for songs that spark a memory, be they good or terrible tunes!

Kate and Cindy still sound fantastic.

...and I did! Definite improvements in various areas. Listened to a LOT of music over the weekend, as there wasn't any decent sport on TV to distract me.

Thats a great show I have seen it before. I had a few days in the Dales over the weekend and managed to stumble across a record fair in Skipton which was a bonus.

There's one at Station Hotel on Saturday (but you probably already knew that).
