The Aussies last try had at least one forward pass in the build up to it , which I reckon was part of the reason the touch judge on the same side gave a forward pass for the last one. The kiwis by far deserved to win, shut up Aussies and accept defeat with grace, where's the journo who said England weren't good enough and we're never going to win anything , love it when the Aussies lose
I think he should go, on the basis that we need somebody to take us to the next level, thanks Steve for your efforts but the time is right for a new coach. We need the best scrum half in SL in the ENGLAND team and we will never get that under McNamara. The performance today and last week was very good, but did we win? No, we need that extra 10% and steve has had enough chances to get the next level and has failed...
Whether or not he meant it, whether or not he played for it, if it was an accident or a price of brilliance from Ryan Hall is totally irrelevant.
Greg Inglis tried to shovel the ball dead and fluffed it and Ryan Hall gets part of his hand on the top of the ball while it is in contact with the ground over the try line. There's no more analysis required, at that point it is a try!
Searching for some distorted interpretation of the rules in order to find reason to disallow it is wrong plain and simple!
There is no clause within the rule book, no addendum to the grounding rule and no allowance for personal interpretation of the LAW of the game which governs the awarding of a try in these circumstances.
It was a try!
The amazing thing is the video proved it was a try and the video ref came up with a reason for disallowing it which the video didnt show!! the ball was on the ground and his hand touched the ball. It was proven as fact and the VR for whatever reason went against what he saw...this is a worrying precedent for hometown video refs!
