  1. Biggest holiday here in the Netherlands. I hope the Dames now enjoy Kingsday in Italy. They deserve it. Awesome performance
  2. Take nothing away from the Dutch.Greece away and Italy away are the only games they have played. Big step up to Wales and Ireland but the Dames look well organised. 42-6 with 20 minutes to play.. Now 46-6
  3. Italy v Netherlands women's World Cup eliminater . It's a belter
  4. On a footnote Dutch international and Den Haag Knights forward Bonne Wilce has opened his new business in Eindhoven. Bonne also pulled on his boots for Oijsterwijk RU club when he moved south so I'm getting the vibe he is behind the Brabant Bears set up. Saves him travelling to Den Haag and expands the codes footprint. In good hands if that's the case.
  5. Not sure how they are working this. New club Brabant have two home games, one in Eindhoven and one in Oijsterwijk. Round two see all three games played in Harderwijk. Nieuwegein (who don't have a club in the competition) host two games from Round three then host both semi final games. Strange one that A real Mish-mash of venues and fixtures that can't do any good in building a "fan base". All clubs get two home fixtures apart from Zwolle Wolves ,who if they get to the final will play only one of their seven fixtures at home.!!!!!!! With six teams now it can't be very far off until the NRLB aim to get a 10 game regular home and away season. Im travelling home for Easter and will try and get some more information.
  6. Last year Norway Albania Germany Serbia and Czech in a five week stint. Year before only two internationals. 2021 three in October. The regular season is over. Looking at the international results of the Dutch over the past few years playing a block of games over a short period of time seems to make the national side more like a club side All selected players can commit to "in camp" like training . Play a game, meet up ,discuss, train prepare for the next weekend. No distractions. Seems to be paying dividends. Question about union. (Not sure why it's always brought up) October September is deep into union season. All boys selected are committed to League. Union to some of them is now becoming their 2nd choice.
  7. Padge. Thanks for the tips for bars. In the Swan and Railway. If this is one of the "better" pubs bring on the rest Joking mate but the customers are all staring into their pints like the world is going to end. Great to " back up north"
  8. DEWSBURY V YORK Live on The Sportsman YouTube now.
  9. Bet 365 (Dutch version) giving Wigan +3.5 points @ 2/1. Penrith - 3.5 points @ 1.80 Penrith to win by 1-12 points@ 2.37. + 13 points @ 3.50. Wigan to win by 1-12 points @ 3.30 + 13 points 8.00 Scratch Penrith 1.57 Wigan 2.37 Penrith clear favourites
  10. Two of my mates are Saints fans the other a Rhino so they wanted to be part of the "opposition" Get the crack going if there are a number of Penrith fans travelling thats for sure. Im an exiled Brit / Workington Town shouting for any of ours when they play the Aussies so for the night Im Wigan.
  11. Went on line this morning after getting an email from the RFL. Four seats in the East Stand (in line with the try line) bought with no hassle. ES2 for any Wigan fans who knows the seating...is it a decent view ? Even a discount for us old geezers Town center Premier Inn booked Friday and Saturday. What a different experience than when I tried to buy tickets for the Saints v Leigh semi final last season. Can sit back and relax now knowing "Its on"
  12. Played at the Mikheil Meskhi Stadium, home of Lokomotiv Tblisi. It was a strange one...big crowd on what was Georgia Independence day but the crowd was also split into various political groups with various party flags and banners flying. It actually kicked off in the stands at one stage with riot police having to separate fighting groups. Nothing to do with the rugby I may add. The Dutch were treat like premier league football stars with police outriders taking the team bus through crowds lining the streets of the city and after the game, on the way to the official reception, the team were presented on stage in the city center to a massive crowd enjoying the Independence day party. Hospitality was second to none ...the Georgians could get you anything ..so they told us. Must be up their as one of the best rugby experiences. A big opportunity lost.
  13. Great memories. Georgia first game was against the Netherlands in Hoek van Holland then we went to play them in Tblisi in the WC qualifier.
  14. Following on from the successful men's season and the ground breaking under 19 mini tour to England it was the turn of the Dutch Ladies to make their international debut yesterday in Athens. What a debut it was. "Netherlands women made a highly impressive debut against Greece at the Municipal Stadium Dimitris Nikolaidis. The Dames took a party of 70 players and fans to Athens, playing an ‘A’ team game and a senior women’s international and did not concede a point, winning 32-0 in the curtain raiser and 14-0 in the main game." Good things happening in the land of Windmills and Clogs.
  15. Think I will let others "Test" it before I commit after getting burned and no refund when the last effort got pulled without any explanation. Used the Watch NRL app for a few years now and its great value.
