whenever we shop in Aldi we end up spending loads more than in Tesco or Waitrose because we keep looking at stuff we don't need and seeing as it's only a couple of quid we buy it. Or I go home with a Generator or MIG welder from the middle aisle.

Finally catching up on Chernobyl , watched the first two . Wow it’s good . Although living here looking at sellafield it makes you shudder a bit !

I have people to shop for me

Something I see which annoys me is trolleys dumped outside people's houses. These houses always have overgrown lawns and smashed up children's toys thrown around interspersed with the odd special brew can. There is invariably a wrecked, old sofa sat on the drive and a moped with a screwdriver sticking out the exhaust pipe. The England flag in the window is there to cover up the fact that the decorating inside is only ever half complete and stained with cannabis smoke and the front door window will normally be smashed and boarded up. I don't know if they think the shopping trolley is a garden feature or ornament or whatever but what I will suggest is they clearly think they are entitled to steal the trolley from the local tesco (always tesco) because they can't be arsed to carry their cans of beer home and then think they are too good to take the thing back again. These kind of people must realise they are utter #### in which case you would hope they would want to try to better themselves. Start by carrying your shopping home!

Nah, tends to just be seeds, grain, bit of grass, sometimes treat myself to some berries or flies.

Finished good omens, and it’s very rare for me to say about a series based on a book I love, but it was brilliant. It had a lull for an episode towards the end but I remember the book had as well. And the bit Gaiman added at the end with Crowley and Aziraphale’s trial at the end was a brilliant addition. Shame there can’t (or more likely shouldn’t) be a second series.

I've just replied to Steve about this. I was lucky to watch all 3 series in a row, an episode a night a few years back. The dialogue was very clever.

I saw the Beiderbecke Trilogy on DVD all the way through a few years ago. I really enjoyed the pace and nuances plus some of it was set where I grew up. Nowadays everything is paced a lot faster of course. Similar to music , nothing seems to be given time to breathe and develop.

After reflecting for a few hours, I think I was a bit less than generous in my praise. Well done, Liverpool. It was a great season and you did deserve some reward for your efforts. It would have been cruel to come away with nothing. However, there is a space in our trophy cabinet and we're coming for it next year!

I was most impressed with Strava when Irina from Russia wanted to send me photos of her and her girlfriends. Apparently all were keen to meet me. Since I got a garmin watch and started to use the app I haven't had any such interesting offers.

Paul Darrow was an absolute legend and I’ve been fortunate enough to see him twice on stage, once playing the title role in the Scottish Play, and the other playing Sam Vimes in the stage adaptation of Guards Guards! obviously I’ll always remember him as Kerr Avon but he was a great actor outside of that and could light up the stage.

Note to self - Never travel with Spidey!
