Bleep1673
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShN8UIk5-mw This track always make my mates & I laugh as the BBC tried to ban it as the previous 2 number 1's from frankie had been contentious, and they couldn't work out if they were taking the P*** or not, they weren't, overtly, it's still a wonderful song. Leeds Wire
Harrison Stafford, lead singer of roots reggae's finest 'Groundation', has a new solo album out. Its bloody brilliant too, if you like the whole stripped down roots reggae thing. The songs are all about the problems of Israel and Palestine, hence the album title 'Madness'. It was written during Stafford's recent visit to the West Bank as a tourist; but don't worry about the sentiment, just enjoy some top reggae tunes. Here are track 2, and track 5,
Futtocks
Gil Scott-Heron, Brian Jackson & the Midnight Band, live from Berkeley, 1978 (downloaded from the Dime a Dozen site). Decent quality, apart from some channel balance problems in the early tracks. "We are easily breakable, by illness or falling, or a million other ways of leaving this earthly life. We are just so much mashed potato." Don Estelle
