marzy
Just wondered how you think hes doing, i know some of you were unsure when you signed him. As a rams fan i think we are missing is guidance on the park. Whilst he wasent our captain he certainly organised us. You have certainly had a good start to the season. good luck with the rest of it apart from our visit to post office road. we cant all be heroes because somebody has to sit on the curb and clap as they go by come on you rams

Robin Evans
Like I said to Kellington's answer to the Idocy Act of 1913 the other day:- I balked at the re-signing of Liam Finn I coughed repeatedly when Andy Kain was dropped to the bench That's why I'm a nurse and Daryl is Fev's head coach!!! Liam is playing out of his skin and Kain coming fresh of the bench when the opposition are knackered has been a cracking strategy so far!! WTF do I know! "I love our club, absolutely love it". HunsletJosh6
Finn will only play for about 20 minutes out of the 80 he is on the field and it will all be within 10 metres of the oppositions line. Kain will play all over the field and constantly probe defences for the full 80 hence 17 tries last season. Looking good so far this season for Fev seen you against Dewsbury and Batley but I think if you started with Kain at 7 then things could be even better still based upon your recruitments in the threequarters and forwards. Robin Evans
got to disagree owd cock. I was one that didn't necessarily see the reasoning behind finn's signature. However, this year he's been a revelation to me at least. Your 20 min assessment is way off the mark as he's good from defense to attack and organising the forwards to gain ground from deep in our half and is much crisper with the ball in hand giving the backs good service. His kicking game is far better. Against barrow he was most def effective the whole 80. The strategy of Kain coming off the bench with tiring backs has yielded good results so far. He's quick, good at exploiting a gap, and when defences are tired and stretched is very effective. I agree with little you have posted. Daryl appears to have got it right for the mo! I suggested this about Kain last season bring him on and playing 9 but nobody replied! Maybe I should apply for head coach. Can't fault Powell I think it is paying dividends now all the extra training and SL experience. Lookinh forward to tomorrow. Hope the old Fev don't turn up :-> I demand to have some booze, I want it here and I want it now!
Steve Slater
Kain is a top player, but he is not a leader. Finn is far better at taking us upfield and is a far better kicker. Kain has the zip and looks ideally suited for the acting half-back role. No-one has mentioned their defensive qualities. While neither of them can match Briggs in this department, the defence cannot be faulted whilst Finn has been starting at scrum half, so you know what they say about if it ain't broke! Your last sentence pretty much sums the debate up and DP would be stupid to change it at present. The problem I have with Finn is that he isn't really superb at anything and over the course of a season I don't think you will reach your optimum with him at 7. sidnee
Plenty better scrum halves knocking about in the Championship Like who? Everyone has stepped it up this year, they have to because there are a number of players waiting to take their place. I think this season, we could put our second team in your league and they wouldn't finish near the bottom. Just my opinion like. The weak conform, the strong survive. HunsletJosh6
Still not answered my question though eh, Hunslet Josh!! Robbie Paul, Ben Black, James Webster and if it wasn't for a lack of consistency with these players I would even go as far as saying Paul Handforth, James Coyle and Jon Presley. Matt J
Thing is with Finn, he's steady, he suits our game plan with an excellent kicking game, he's an excellent passer and times passes perfectly, he can also run through a gap, but most of all, he can control a game. So far this season i'd stick my neck out and say he's been as good as Paul, Black & Webster and better than Coyle, Tiger & Presley (Although, that Danny Jones from Keighley looks decent), just that Finn isn't a big name. Cummins Out.

What your saying about Finn, josh lad is exactly what i thought when we 1st signed him, he has proved me wrong and im over the moon about it. marklaspalmas
Im chuffed that it's working out for Rovers with the half-backs and hookers because I was a bit worried when Harris & McLocklan left about who would lead the side/do the kicking/play AHB. It looks like we've got plenty of options now. My reservations about Finn were based solely around the idea of him playing at hooker, which as it turns out, he hasn't done much. https://www.fevarchive.co.uk/
Robin Evans
and I made reference to a comparison between Liam Finn and Tommy Haughey when? I like Fev and come to quite a few of the games so any comments I have on players is purely that and nothing to do with the club as a whole. I accept that Josh. But as Sidnee points out, there is an irony that your assessment of Finn is considered way off the mark, yet we can all remember Tommy Haughy, who has the skills and build to play SL, but because of his mental attitude is where he is!!! He could be so much better than C1 level. And yes I know you've not made that comparison, it's just worthy of insertion. Liam is playing far better than I ever envisaged he would do, and as Mark says, - he's wearing the 9 shirt but hasn't done much of the hookers role so far this season. He's most def an 80 min man and at the mo is on fire. There isn't a scrum half in the league who at the mo is as consistent as he is - IMO. But it's a free forum where your comments are welcomed at all times, if not considered inaccurate on this occasion. "I love our club, absolutely love it".
