Meet the referee at Odsal

Recommended Posts

BullBuilder are delighted to announce their next event, which is called 'Meet the ref'. The evening will give you the opportunity to hear from a current Super League referee as well as ask him your own questions!

The event will be held in the Director's Suite in the Coral Stand at the Grattan Stadium, and will be held on Tuesday 7th September at 7:30pm. It promises to be an interesting and memorable evening and as you know, BullBuilder members can attend entirely free of charge!

If you have any questions for the referee, please send them to the address above or email info@bullbuilder.co.uk - we will ask submitted questions first before allowing questions from the audience as time allows.

Keep an eye on the BullBuilder & Bulls websites and in the Telegraph & Argus for more details about this event. We hope to see you there!

My wish list would be

Cummings

Ganson

Child

Silverwood

Any of them please so we all can integrate them.

:D

I can imagine you preparing to attend the event: "Pitchfork - check! Flaming torch - check!". :P

24 cans of Kestrel - Check

Betting slip - check

Now then, it's a race between Sandie....and Fairburn....and the little man is in........yeees he's in.

I, just like those Castleford supporters felt that the ball should have gone to David Plange but he put the bit betwen his teeth...and it was a try

Kevin Ward - best player I have ever seen

The real Mick Gledhill is what you see on here, a Bradford fan ........, but deep down knows that Bradford are just not good enough to challenge the likes of Leeds & St Helens.

We once had similar event a few years ago when Stuart Cummings gave a talk and answered questions from fans in the Touchdown bar at Odsal. It was well attended, very interesting and Stu Cummings was the perfect guest; approachable, articulate, funny and obviously knowledgeable.

After an enjoyable general talk about the joys (and otherwise) of refereeing he took, questions and the first, "does Russell Smith know the rules", didn't faze him at all (answer was "yes", btw), all in all, maybe the sort of night, showing the human side of the officials, that all clubs should try?

I attend a forum each year for Burtonwood Bulldogs which is hosted by Eddie Hemmings and usually has a ref or linesman there. Often it has been Karl Kirkpatrick, but I also believe Steve Ganson has attended, as well as one of the linesman.

They are always by far the most popular people on the panel, even when it has been a proper a-list turnout!

I have always found them to come across really well, and you are right in that it does show the human side. That said, Sean Long almost won me over at one of the Q&A's he attended! Almost!!!

I know what you mean about Sean Long. I've never really taken to him to be honest, mainly for the off pitch antics, but having seen him on the Sky show with Brian Carney, I almost find myself liking him!

I'd be no good on a jury.........I'd never convict anybody :P

More chance of seeing Lucan and Shergar at a Bulls game/event

Oi Kenny, i used to drink Kestrel, albeit it was 25 years ago

A lot of Yorkshiremen believe that when God created the world, he made it with perfect balance.

He balanced the hot areas with the cold areas. the dry areas with the wet areas.

And, in creating Yorkshire, he created the most glorious place on earth - full of majestic beauty and sporting giants.........and for balance he created....... Lancashire.
