The Stadium officially  holds 30,000

The crowd today was 29,047

You can nitpick that if you like.

So it wasn’t sold out then? Why announce it then in advance as surely that would’ve put off some people who may have wanted to go.

Looks a really good mid level stadium, fills a nice niche

Maybe it was sold out and a few hundred did not or could not make it.

Who cares?

Did you want to buy a ticket?

Just hope the Parramatta fans will fill it out on the first game as if they don't the WSW Soccer mob will claim it's really built for them ?

The first game was a few hours ago. It looked quite full.

Those who might have wanted to attend the opening game at the stadium might care

If they were keen and motivated I am sure they would have called Parramattas Leagues Club or Ticktek and checked availability and not taken media reports for gospel.

That is what intelligent people do.

Hopefully this will drastically increase crowds once SFS is rebuilt, the Olympic stadium is made into a proper rectangular stadium, and North Queensland move into their new ground.

Those developments could improve the average of the league further towards the 20k mark.

If Parramatta have a reasonable season I would be surprised if they do not average around 20,000 + for home games.

This has to be one of the best purpose built rugby league stadium so far.

A great video tour is available on this site:

That's a fantastic looking stadium.

Anyone noticed how 'speckled' seating colours seems to be the in thing at the minute? I think York's new stadium has a similar pattern.

That’s the problem though, it’s Australians we are talking about ?

Well, Wan*fest certainly lived up to it's name as far as the Parra fans were concerned, how long is it since their team turned in a performance like that? granted the opposition were abysmal but they displayed a purpose not shown for a long while by the blue and gold.   Enjoyed the occasion, Andrew Voss must have creamed himself with the stats thrown up?
