GB Lions Tour tickets on sale today + Eden Park schedule confirmed

How much money does this tour need to turnover in order to be financially successful?

Assuming that Hamilton & Christchurch at least sell 80%-85% capacity and Eden Park hits 30K, we are looking at over NZD 3.2m in revenue.

Now you would expect us to sell more than that for the matches, which can push us closer to the NZD 5m mark, plus sponsorship, TV revenue and merchandise sales.

The revenue for the matches isn't get split evenly between the nations either, with the majority going to the NZRL and RFL.

So, assuming a fair wind and a generous cut for GB, the RFL could be looking at around NZD 2.5m in income? Google tells me that's £1.35m.

Does anyone have a realistic assessment of how much the tour will cost the RFL?

Any news on whether a UK broadcaster is going to pick this up?

Nothing is on the Rugby League on TV page so ... no?

Yes, there’s nothing on there that confirms the broadcaster on their website.

They have confirmed that the Australia vs New Zealand game is on Sky (time TBC), but Tonga vs GB remains unconfirmed.

All seems rather odd
