In an open letter to supporters, Keighley’s Reserves head coach Dean Muir said: “I’m writing this open letter to our fans to express how deeply upset I truly am regarding the decision by the Rugby Football League to reject our application to join the revamped Reserves Championship competition in 2020.

wonder if it's going to be a super greed closed shop and champs teams told they cant run reserves like they did with the acadamies

Still doesn't appear to be any news on Fev's application, and the thread on the general forum reckons Whitehaven have also been rejected. If you were cynical you might suspect that a closed shop is coming where those getting in have to, say, run a reserves side amongst other things.....

Not ethical with some people to condemn and criticise the game, but this decision is another stage in bringing the game down to an even lower standard. Money talks. The game will slowly slide into oblivion as is the amateur game.

This would appear to indicate that not only will we not have a reserves side next year, but that we didn't even apply for entry into the competition. Good to see Fax being accepted.

So all the work done to set up a reserve team playing frendlies has been a complete waste of time and money. What the heck is the thinking behind this
