NRL Match Thread - Round 6 - 2021

Recommended Posts

First half was average , and the second half was average as well for The Roosters . In fact they were poor with way to many errors , and having two rookies , however promising , in key spots in a game like this had a detrimental effect on their attack which never really got going at all . In contrast as the game went on the Storm spine really made big headway and punched holes in the Roosters over and over off the back of great go forward . The Roosters for me just won’t match it against the best without their top 6,7,9 combo. As for the Storm , I think the Panthers have passed them now , and I think they’re there or thereabouts with Souths and Canberra in the chasing pack .  For all the hype around them at times it’s an effort for them to nail teams down

I really enjoyed the knights sharks game . Another gutting loss for the sharks who just wouldn’t go away , but Ponga is gold for the knights and he was the difference in the end . I’m not sold on either of these tbh

Did Munster go off then run straight back on? If he was HIA enough to take him off, how could they have assessed him properly in less than a minute?

That looked bizarre . He went down like he was out cold , got up went off and came back on . Pass.

Sea Eagles v Titans Preview:

Sea Eagles Players Unavailable - Jorge Taufua (Injured), Manase Fainu (Suspended), Curtis Sironen (Injured), Andrew Davey (Injured), Moses Suli (Injured), Morgan Boyle (Injured), Dylan Walker (Injured), Jack Gosiewski (Injured)

Titans Players Unavailable - Anthony Don (Injured)

Manly Sea Eagles last week earned their first win of the season with a narrow win over New Zealand Warriors.  They face a tough ask to back that up as tomorrow they host Gold Coast Titans who are in good form. Titans have won three of their last four having scored more than 40 points in an impressive display against Newcastle Knights and they will look to add a further success here. The Sea Eagles will be looking to kick on from last week's their pressure-relieving success. They've got Tom Trbojevic back in the side too. Surely though the Titans can make it five wins in their last six games against Manly, can't they? What do you reckon?

Don't forget Ponga who was MOM in the earlier game in his first game back, with 2 tries. And that was despite vomiting on the field from some virus he had.

I included Ponga along with RTS for the Kiwi's, is RTS playing in the World Cup before he succumbs to the coin and disappears to the dark side?

Rabbitohs v Tigers Preview:

Rabbitohs Players Unavailable - Blake Taaffe (Injured), Taane Milne (Injured), Braidon Burns (Injured), Jed Cartwright (Injured), Brock Gardner (Injured), Kaeon Koloamatangi (Suspended), Dean Hawkins (Injured)

Tigers Players Unavailable - Billy Walters (Injured), Shawn Blore (Injured), Joey Leilua (Injured)

Wests Tigers had a poor performance last week. They were 6-28 down to the North Queensland Cowboys at half-time, and Cowboys had been winless this season before that game. They did mount a comeback in the second half but fell short by four points. Tigers need to have a much better start tomorrow. However they will be coming up agaianst an in-form South Sydney Rabbitohs who have now won four in a row and look good in both attack and defence. Surely Bunnies will win comfortably won't they?

Raiders v Eels Preview:

Raiders Players Unavailable - Harley Smith-Shields (Injured), Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad (Injured), Ryan James (Rested)

Eels Players Unavailable -  Michael Jennings (Suspended), Michael Oldfield (Injured), Waqa Blake (Injured), Dylan Brown (Suspended)

Eels struggled to convert several good opportunities last week as they had their first loss of the season. Eels haven't won in Canberra since 2006 so they might struggle in this game. The Raiders also lost last week going down to table topping Penrith Panthers.

Raiders have nilled the Eels in their last two matches at this ground. Given the recent histoy of results between the two sides you'd be led to expect a Raiders win, wouldn't you?

Woke up to a very unexpected scoreline with a big Manly win. Very good for the comp that the Broncos and Manly are starting to put it together though.

32min: Daine Laurie crosses but bunker is checking it ...

No, they were checking Latrell high tackle on Leilua in the leadup.

Doueihi converts.  6 - 6
