Upcoming gigs 2022

Recommended Posts

I Went to see (British) Sea Power last night in Manchester. It’s the first time i have been to the Albert Hall and for some reason i thought it was going to be some posh all seater place like in dat der London. But it’s a cracking venue, with bars going down either side of the hall, there is some seating upstairs but i don’t know if you could just nip up there or you have to pay extra. It’s great place for moshing & crowd surfing if you’re fit & nimble enough to do that and there was a fair bit of that going on last night. I stood where the sound engineer or whatever they’re called is with all the gadgets and it was a good spec. I am back again on Thursday for Grandaddy, a band i have always wanted to see.

Chris Rock 15th May in Manchester, followed by Jacqui Abbott and Paul Heaton supported by The Proclaimers 22nd July in St.Helens.

Gutted I can't make the Paul Heaton gig. I believe the Lathums are also supporting who are great.

I envy you going to see Grandaddy one of my favourite bands. The Sophtware Slump album is a masterpiece.

They are one of those bands that hardly anyone has ever heard of Moose. But i am pleased about that, the less popular they’re the better. Although i believe the lad who played Harry Potter (i don’t know his name) is a big fan of theirs.

As a mate of mine said “? from Harry Potter picked a song from one of those sh** nondescript bands that you like on his desert island discs”.

I am still waiting for my tickets from TicketDisaster(master) they’re bloody hard work and draining trying to get through to them.

never remember there been a problem with "pay on the door" in all my years of gigging - never ever- why is life so difficult and complicated these days? before long you will have to "download an app" to use your own toilet

I agree 100% Moose, everything is becoming cashless and has to be done on your phone and print it yourselves, but not everyone has a printer and all that palaver. I like having a ticket in my hand that i can keep as a reminder and put with a gig-poster. The most annoying thing about these companies is trying to contact them and get a reply.

I went to see Grandaddy last Thursday night and what a fantastic night it was. It was Grandaddy without Jim Fairfield, Aaron  Burtch, Tim Dryden. For this gig it was Jason Lytle & the Lost Machine Orchestra and we sure got our money’s worth with a total of 21 songs with the whole of the Sophtware Slump being played. The set list was 1. Sarah5646766 2. He’s Simple He’s Dumb He’s The Pilot 3. Hewlett’s Daughter 4. The Crystal Lake 5. Chartsengrafs 6. Underneath The Weeping Willow 7. Broken Household Appliance National Forest 8. Jed The Humanoid 9. Jed’s Other Poem (beautiful ground) 10. Jeddy’s Poem 11. Jed The 4th 12. Miner At The Dial A View 13. So You’ll Aim Toward The Sky 14. E Knievel Interlude 15. Lost On Yer Merry Way 16. Saddest Vacant Lot In All The World 17. This Is The Part. “Encore - 18.The Go In The Go-For-It 19. The Warming Sun 20. A Lost Machine 21. Happy Little Kid.
If They ever tour again and visit Manchester or Liverpool i would definitely go watching them again. I even bought a Grandaddy t-shirt.

Glad you enjoyed it Josef.

I was in Halifax last night to see the tribute band Killer Queen, a loud, enthusiastic audience made for an enjoyable evening. Queen wasn’t really one of my favourite bands but Mrs Moose was keen to see the show.

There's a new Yorkshire soul band called Super Strut. 4 x women (sax, trumpet, trombone and singer) 4 x men (guitar, bass, drums and keyboards). They are not just good; they are really really good.

Their showreel is from early 2021 rehearsals and doesn't give a true picture of where they are now. Believe me, they are the business live. Bradfordians can catch them at the Juke Bar on May 20th.

Well done for going it’s something i couldn’t do. I think i am a terrible music snob, i wished i wasn’t but i am. I haven’t got a wide range in music taste. Although i do like “Blanket On The Ground by Billy Jo Spears” but i think that’s it. Oh and i don’t mind “Video Games by Lana whatever her name is”.

That’s all a bit to technical for me Johnny. But if someone could put on “On The Sea” or “Zebra” they’re two of their songs.

Someone I would typically never watch in a million years but I was asked to cover a Jools Holland outside event a few Sundays ago. Support was by Beverley Knight whose vocals were out of this world.

Jools and his band as well, I couldn't  help but appreciate them, even if not my usual cup o'tea!

It’s Doug Stanhope on the 16th September. Sadly i had to sell on my tickets as i can’t  make it on that date. But the next time he is over here i would definitely like to go and see him.
I wonder if he’ll stay off the booze, cigs, and weed for the full thirty days like he said he would ?.
