Kirklees jumped ship early to stave off their liabilities, "gifting" their 40% share to the soccer club and the Gnats.

If thats the case then they can build a smaller venue with the proceeds of the sale and if indeed it needs 10 mil investing them it would be a wise move to sell and build a newer purpose built stadium

That would be my preference for sure.

I would happily let Mr Nagle pay Ken and the Giants to leave and build our cozy, little home somewhere.

The shares don't come with a "proceed", they come with an "invoice" for your share of the upgrade and upkeep of the stadium.

It's a con - the stadium is a valuable asset and the stadium management company have convinced the council and the Giants that they'll be better of without their share, citing future bills.

The share is worthless. The SMC is taking them for free to relieve the council and the Giants of their financial responsibilities to fund the upgrade and maintenance of the stadium.
