Midlands hobo Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 So sat in the south stand today I say a few instances of it. Lees yellow was the worst and my view is he was lucky to be allowed back on. However there doesn't seem to be a joined up stance between NRL rfl (int rules) and the women's game.
Gomersall Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 IMO both Lees and Newman were lucky to see the game out.
Hopie Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 I can see scenarios where it is accidental if hair is long and for example its between your hand and the shirt you want to grab, but Lees was grabbing the head which is not a good idea on a baldie, so he should have known better to not take being dominated so personally. Yellow card seemed fair to me as it was just -housery but not sure anybody else should have gone from that incident, and when that Welsh lass got her face smashed and that was also a yellow, it could seem harsh.
StandOffHalf Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 Poor Koloamatangi didn't deserve to be sat down after that Lees nonsense. Other England players came running in before he did. 3
StandOffHalf Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 There was another one in the second half that drew audible gasps from the crowd. A Tongan runner was caught hold of and you could see the whiplash effect on his head as the tackler grabbed his locks. As long as it's an honest accident I think it's a risk that those with long hair run and not something to deal with harshly. If it's deliberate, it has to be dealt with severely. 2
Midlands hobo Posted November 5, 2023 Author Posted November 5, 2023 If the hair is down the back and touching the shirt and you grab at the shirt and get hair then yes play on as the NFL say if it touches the shirt that part is the shirt. However lees was more cynical he knew what he was upto. Bring back the biff and let players sort it out, the ref did a weak job.

bobbruce Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 I think the fairest why to deal with the Lees one was just to bin Lees and then a penalty. The other option was to bin Lees plus one from each side for running in. The way the ref dealt with it the punishment didn’t seem to fit the incident. 2

People called Romans they go the house

It was awful from Lees.....surprised that wasn't red ...it was just frustration though as he is so out of his depth in test rugby 1
Dunbar Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 I was always told as a kid, they can't run without their scalp! "The history of the world is the history of the triumph of the heartless over the mindless." — Sir Humphrey Appleby. "If someone doesn't value evidence, what evidence are you going to provide to prove that they should value it? If someone doesn't value logic, what logical argument could you provide to show the importance of logic?" — Sam Harris
