No it won`t stop there, once Perth are in and up and running it is only a matter of time before South Australia`s capital city Adelaide start pushing for a team, The Adelaide Rams were averaging 15 000 crowds before they were sacrificed as part of the Super League war settlement.

Super League CEO John Ribot came out recently stating of all the Super League clubs Adelaide was one of the one`s that was on the most sustainable financial footing.

South Australia, home of Australia`s aeronautical industry, Adelaide Jets anyone. Do like the Rams moniker though.

I genuinely hope so. I’m emigrating there in March 😀

Good player. Hopefully Sikitails can have a better season next year. There is so much talent in Fiji, though we need NRL or SL clubs signing them. Too many Fijian players have been lost to union in the recent years. Vuate Karawalevu, Taniela Sadrugu, Iosefo Masi and a quite a few of the Sikitails best youngsters have joined top 14 sides which is such a shame.

They have signed a partnership with the bulldogs this year so hopefully that will stop so many players leaving to union.

I honestly feel that rugby union is the game of preference for the majority of Fijians and if an opportunity arises for them to switch codes from league to union they’ll snap it up unfortunately.

It is the incumbent, dominant sport. That can change quickly with a dominant NRL, this investment into development and pathways as well as increased opportunities to play RL internationally.

Maybe but I just feel that union is too well entrenched as the game of choice for most Fijians but who knows what will happen in the next decade of NRL dominance and development in the region.

No chance. Union was more entrenched in NZ than Fiji and look at the turnaround there

Once people play the greatest game, they love it. The challenge is of course that it is a massive step up from pigs rolling around in mud looking for truffles to playing a proper sport.

Agreed. Once pathways are demonstrably working, a professional league of the NRLs size on their own doorstep is surely a better pull than European rugby.
