Yep, frequently over a very British spoken soundtrack.  Like them Public Service Broadcasting but without the melodies and brogues.

Very much akin to Eisturzende Neubaten and some other mob I used to go and see where the drummer from the Men they Couldn't Hang used to join in the din.  Can't remember what they were called...

I wonder why I have significant hearing loss!

I also used to frequently bump into a bloke at gigs with a F**head tattoo on his face in tribute to said noise some combo.  Wonder what became of him.

Rogue Male by Geoffrey Household on Radio 4 extra.  Gripping stuff in a 1930's style!

Another recommendation for the book 'Rogue Male' - the Radio 4 adaptation is a good one.

The ludicrously funny Cabin Pressure on Radio 4 Extra.

An ensemble cast and script of the highest order.

I'm sure it won't surprise you to hear they're still on the go. My brother's band were supporting them at a gig in Wakefield a month or two back.

Old punks never die. They just get married and have to learn some hard lessons about personal hygiene.

I'm so bored with the C.S.A.?

Yeah I know. I have seen them a couple of times. The lead singer Gene October was probably one of the first open-ish gay singers I knew of. Very interesting list of ex members in that band.

Immense riff, top song. Fast Eddie at his peak.

Top album too, full of Motorhead classics.

I actually slightly prefer this to the Beatles' original. Manzanera, Eno & Co. give it a great groove.
