Well done to Jared Simpson

Recommended Posts

I think he made his debut against Wigan. he scored a try in that game.

Looked good with ball in hand but needs a bit of help with his defence.

Very good prospect and he probably deserves his contract.

Good to see another quality young player coming through the Giants youth system.

Well done to Jared and well done to the Moldgreen club for whom he played as a youngster.

The Hudds staff are pretty positive about the current crop of youngsters and Jake Connor and Kruise Leeming have also played a few games this season.

Hudds appear to have some good youngsters coming through yet their U19's are having a shocking season having missed the cut to make the Super 7's.

Saints & Wigan are head & shoulders above the rest this year with an 8 point gap between them and Hull & Warrington and a massive 14 point gap to 5th placed Cas.

He,s 19, been at the Giants at least 3 years , at what age did the Bulls sign him, and was it legal?

This raises an interesting point as to which club would be able to class him as one of their 'home grown' players ? If the Bulls developed him up to the age of 16 but then Hudds continued it after this can Hudds claim any of the 'home grown' benefits ?

Similar sort of situation with someone like Shaun Lunt. Saints signed him as a young kid (about 13 or 14 I think) but released him to go back and sign with a Cumbrian club because the travel was causing issues for his family. If he re-signs for Saints can they then claim him as a 'home grown' player because they helped develop him as a junior ?

I remember a game v Barrow away in the cup(bout 25yrs ago) when Roger broke his arm and Peter Fox wouldn't take him off. It was hanging like a broken twig and he was trying to tackle with his other arm and stay upright.

Northern legend.

Forever in our shadow, forever on your mind.

The term "home grown" is defunct under EU rules (law?).

It's now "Club Trained".

The criteria for CT is that a player has been at the club 3 years prior to their 21st birthday.

Something like that anyway.

May well be that Simpson could be classed as CT at Hudds.

Connor and Leeming are veterans compared to Simpson!

Connor has played 20 games,

Leeming 11,

also Josh Johnson has played 15 times but only 3 this year.

Yes, I know.

Is Johnson still injured?
