#3186137 Ainscough

Posted by Phil Loxton on 02 September 2015 - 06:33 PM

Having watched it several times I don't believe he was going for touch. He was kicking it in the air celebrating the hooter going and was turning to celebrate when his team mate started chasing the kick.I reckon 9 out of 10 times he'd have got away with it but credit Will Sharp for being alert enough to watch what was happening. Most players would have stopped playing with the ball at the other end of the field. For what it's worth I think you will have enough to get over the line and stay in the Championship

I agree with that. He simply thought that the game was over when the hooter went. And for Sharp to cover so much ground after the hooter when many players would just call it a day was testament to his professionalism. But Ainscough is no lesser player for any of that cos he was Batley best player

#3186010 Rovers vs Dewsbury - Great Value Afternoon!

We (FEV) might need to score 40 points in the last 7 minutes against the Rams. So you will have to be on your mettle.

#3185357 Championship Shield: Dewsbury 25 London 16

Agree with all that. Wildie had his best game for us IMO, but you couldn't have described it as creative. I'd have been tempted to give KP the MOM, everybody he tackled went down first time - and some of them stayed down. Re the forward pass that led to Leigh's last try - swings and roundabouts, I reckon Uaisele's effort was grounded short. Morton had a decent game, but bombed a chance by ignoring Uaisele in support after a good break -  went missing again for a Leigh try. Lot better effort from the lads though all in all. Another season from Aizue would be fine with me (if not BSJ)  ;)‚Äč

I thought you played London

#3185346 How to end a game

Posted by Phil Loxton on 01 September 2015 - 10:34 AM

He could have took the tackle...but what if he had it stripped in a one on one? Every scenario holds its dangers. The safest in this instance would have been for him to run towards his own line and throw it out.Ainscough was caught up in the atmosphere of Fev fighting back late on and I think it was euphoria that led him to believe that Batley had hung on.

Perhaps Batley would not have been 26-6 up if Ainscough hadn't played so to blame him for what turned out to be a catastrophic one off is insane. Batley were far superior in every aspect of the game and to allow Rovers back into the game in the closing stages ewas the blame of all the players. Fev fan.

#3181291 TOWN v Fev

Posted by Phil Loxton on 23 August 2015 - 04:00 PM

Think you'll win this one easy if I'm honest. Fev are in turmoil at the moment, a few players have been told that they won't be there next season & been put in reserve's, Jon Sharp seems to be relying on the young lads till end of season. One player to watch out for who'll probably come off the bench, young hooker Sam Day,very good player, good luck lads

I was waiting for this one to bite you on the bum Graham. Our young kids are putting the effort in.But to be honest I did think Town might have turned this one around.

Don't you just hate it when that happens.

Yeah I'm gonna try and stop being funny and go back to the Fev forum.

#3176833 Crowd for Wakefield V Bulls

Aye and there was 6436 at Fev when they visited Post Office Road. Hope they stay in Championship just for that. Also when Fev went to Odsal and won.Their fans were very magnanimous. The ones talking to us were happy playing in the championship and enjoyed their visits to places like Dewsbury Fev and Batley etc.

#3173047 Sharps names 19 man squad for Whitehaven

Posted by Phil Loxton on 08 August 2015 - 06:35 PM

So we have been training hard over the last two week we are playing a team that finished 10th and we are at home if They are favourites we have massive problems

God sake I do agree with you Jt. For him to say such a thing is wide of the mark. He should be bigging the players up and instilling confidence and say "we are going to right a wrong, and this time the players are going to get stuck in and show the other clubs we mean business and give our fans something to shout about for once on our own soil" Give me strength.

#3150822 Team for Bradford game

The Blackmore try was brilliant. And Hitchcox cut them to shreds early on. Special mention though for the Bulls fans who stayed to clap Featherstone from the field.

How can we pick 3 from that sensational team performance.I'm not bothering.

#3149929 fev yesterday

The try was confusing. Having seen the replay I am not sure if the referee is actually waving play on from the knock on and the Rovers player assuming the ball is dead is trying to get to the 22 metres line to tap it.At the moment he is trying to get to the tap spot he is being interfered with by a defender. The ref is seen wiping the tackle count out then of course lets the play continue. It was bizarre and gave my team a lift against the run of play.

Remember these big lads attract 3 or 4 tacklers which often leads to space out wide with quick play the balls. Often this goes un-noticed.
