#3262157 Barrow v Oldham

Posted by morty on 25 January 2016 - 07:39 PM

cheers guys and good luck in the championship this year

#3230455 Liam Harrison

Posted by morty on 08 November 2015 - 07:43 PM

good to have Liam signed back on ... didn't look 100% fit all last season but hopefully will be this year. A fully fit Bull is still one of the best players in non Superduperleague

#3228326 Squad for 2016

Posted by morty on 05 November 2015 - 05:42 PM

Matty has just had a shoulder op as well so needs to recuperate so a season in the amateurs may be the best thing and Kristian may need another season to get up to speed?

#3205385 Cammy and Bate sign on

Posted by morty on 02 October 2015 - 11:36 AM

Bates contract may be based around him missing those games? ie reduced wages when suspended, only himself and the club will know that,I'd still rather he be playing for Barrow when his ban is up rather than another club though

Spot on Phil

#3173557 Raiders v bears

ive tried to defend the injury hit squad to the hilt over the last few weeks but last night we were on the whole awful .... some serious thinking to be done im afraid!!!!

Looks like we will be finishing 6th unless a MASSIVE improvement occurs.

#3171621 There was a game at CP yesterday!

Posted by morty on 05 August 2015 - 10:03 PM

wow harsh words there Odin and JCD... I think that's a little unfair to be honest.

Given we are cash strapped I think we are doing ok. Its not the best team we have ever had but look what happened the last time we bought a great squad ... it put us on our uppers and its why we are in the mess the BOD are trying to get us out from.

#3160487 Big Game tonight

Posted by morty on 19 July 2015 - 10:22 AM

We were just outplayed and out enthused simple as, Crusaders defence knew our attacking gameplans and had cover there all the time.....we have a threadbare squad and some players are playing with knocks which doesn't help.

I thought the Leigh lads played well last night ???

Hewer was simply awful ..... let the game get away from him and lost control but I don't expect anything else from him to be honest but he wasn't the reason we got turned over last night.

Onward and upward !! If we make the play offs I will be very happy.

#3145266 Were Gloucester good or were we bad ?

Posted by morty on 22 June 2015 - 02:02 PM

Josh is a young lad and his kicking will only improve ... theres a hell of a lot of pressure on the kicker as in a tight game a kick either way is all that may be in it. Confidence is a big thing as well...if you miss your 1st 3 kicks in a game the pressure to kick the next builds etc.

I think we are a good side and on our day we can beat anyone in this league home or away BUT we are a long way off Championship standard yet. We need time to build this young side into a one that can go up and stay up and not get hammered the way the lower sides in the championship are against the Leighs and Bradfords!!

#3121241 Collection :)

excellent for his family

#3117881 Danny Jones

so pleasing in such circumstances that the fund set up for Dannys family has already topped 50k ... RL community coming together is great to see.

A few SL players are shaving their beards and heads for sponsorship.

Hope we can also dig deep on Saturday as I believe there will be a collection at the game !!!

#3100393 Newcastle Thunder v Raiders

Posted by morty on 04 April 2015 - 10:19 AM

Jesus I cant believe the people on here knocking Thunder for trying to get people thro the turnstiles. Well done to Thunder for the victory and the attendance.

I think Thunder and the Raiders could be right up there at the end of the season !!

#3093660 Raiders v Halifax

Posted by morty on 23 March 2015 - 12:03 PM

No disgrace at all yesterday thought the lads showed what they are made of in the 2nd half especially. To say Fax took their foot off the gas isn't a true reflection.....we got into their faces more which plugged the gaps the likes of Kaye and Murrell were able to capitalise on in the 1st half!!

There were a few comments from the crowd which were disrespectful to our players and whoever said them should be ashamed of themselves.

One thing it did prove is that we are not ready to step back into the Championship yet and like Cresta has already said its a work in progress and a longer term development program to get us ready and not be cannon fodder for the likes of the full time squads in the league above.

Hopefully we will be a match for any Champ 1 team at home!!! Lets see what happens away from CP as the season progresses???

#3089795 Well done, Oldham!
